SAMPLE TWEETS BELOW MUST BE COMPLETED FOR CONSIDERATION.

We are looking to add a creative writer and Tweeter to join our social media team! And if you have Photoshop, video editing and/or motion graphics experience, you’re the rare type of utility player we’re seeking.

Candidates must have a deep and detailed knowledge of baseball and the Colorado Rockies. Hands-on experience running team/brand Twitter, Facebook and Instagram accounts is required, as well as a strong handle of grammar, syntax, @Rockies’ Twitter voice and a keen editorial sense. Attention to detail is a must.
This is a part-time position offering 32 to 40 hours per week. Specifically, you would be required to provide in-game Twitter/Facebook/IG content during games as part of the club’s daily efforts. This role is extremely collaborative, working daily in a team setting, and you must be professional around players, coaches and media at all times. Candidates are required to be flexible; you work when games are being played: days, nights, weekends and holidays. The plan is for you to work as many games as you can, whether the team is at home or on the road, shifts lasting from four hours before first pitch until 45-90 minutes after the final out.

Please submit your resume, cover letter, social media handles, blog(s) and writing samples (short or long-form) you think best reflect your style.

Below are sample tweet topics. Compose each as if you’re tweeting from the Rockies team account. Assume each topic occurs in real time, and feel free to include any ideas you have for images/GIFs/graphics. Please include these sample tweets in your cover letter.

  1. Your team’s star hitter wins the batting title.
  2. It’s the first day of Spring Training games.
  3. Your team wins its ninth straight game.
  4. 20% off all Rockies.com/shop items
  5. After entering a tie game with the bases loaded and no outs, your reliever gets out of the jam with a strikeout.
  6. Your ace starter goes down with elbow injury in 8th
  7. Your team’s best outfielder does it again, making an incredible diving catch.
  8. Your team takes the lead on an RBI double in the bottom of the 5th
  9. Your manager gets ejected after arguing the result of a replay review.
  10. A scoreless game is broken up by a home run from your team’s hottest hitter.
