Fraud Prevention Specialist
Ibotta is seeking a Fraud Prevention Specialist to join our high-growth organization at Ibotta on the Fraud Operations team.

The Fraud Operations team is one of the key differentiators among Ibotta’s competitors. We are looking for someone who will take personal pride in isolating, reporting and curtailing fraudulent/abnormal account activity to minimize Ibotta's exposure to loss through service misuse and abuse.

What you will be doing:
- Oversee dispute processes and create evidence case files
- Exercise due diligence, critical thinking, and negotiation skills to determine the appropriate action to resolve open disputes in a timely fashion
- Initiate dispute claims and gather necessary information/documentation through ZenDesk and other internal systems
- Work closely with the internal payment stakeholders to highlight trends and recommend changes to policy/procedures that will improve the buyer experience while also decreasing the dispute rate
- Assist frontline Customer Service team with dispute document collection and processing as required by business need
- Support the Fraud Operations team, take on special projects, and ad-hoc assignments as directed by the manager
What we are looking for:
- 1 + years of fraud-related experience (card not present environment preferred)
- Bachelor's degree preferred or an equivalent combination of related education and experience
- Must be organized, positive, proactive, and results-oriented
- Self-starter, intellectually curious and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
- Ability to quickly identify patterns and trends across seemingly unrelated content
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
- Curious-minded enough to pursue open-ended leads, but pragmatic enough to understand when to move on from an issue
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical skills and creative problem-solving ability
- Highly motivated and able to build processes and procedures from scratch
- Proven track record of achieving or exceeding targets
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, ZenDesk, Looker, and SQL (experience preferred)
- Ensures adherence to all policies, procedures, and practices
- Dedication to teamwork and a passion for guiding and aligning other teams with Ibotta’s goals and expectations
