Enterprise Quality Director
Job Description:
The Enterprise Quality Director is responsible for providing strategic vision as well as overseeing tactical execution of quality improvement activities across the company. This position requires a high level of thought leadership and adept orchestration of people, processes, systems, and metrics to drive “best-in-class” quality performance. Strong stakeholder and direct customer communication skills are critical to the success of this role.
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Develop, train and implement standard CAPA quality tools such as 8D or DMAIC techniques
- Develop, communicate and implement corporate level quality policies and procedures
- Establish, measure, report, improve and communicate quality Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Utilize quality metrics to identify and lead “prevention-focused” implementation projects to drive business-wide quality improvements
- Engage with customers to capture, measure and manage the customer experience
- Direct quality audit programs and maintain required certifications
- Oversee supplier and vendor compliance programs
- Demonstrate operational excellence, by way of managing continuous improvement programs and implementing standard tools and best practices
- Drive and influence a culture of quality across all levels and organizations
- Lead, develop and mentor quality professionals throughout the company
JOB COMPLEXITY, EXPERIENCE AND DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Requires a minimum of 15 years’ experience with a 4-year degree or advanced degree
- Recognized as an expert within the company, contributing to the thought leadership and overall strategy of the function
- Is accountable for the performance and results of a strategically important discipline, across the enterprise
- Extensive knowledge of quality operations, including operational excellence, compliance, audits and certifications
- Provides leadership and direction through Senior Managers and Managers
- Accountable for navigating complex, global, matrixed reporting organizations
- Strong collaboration competency, supporting senior executives and colleagues
- Ability to independently lead and set organizational direction
- Strong analytical skills, including data analysis and visualization
- Demonstrated problem solving skills and ability to lead teams in problem solving
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Experience working in a manufacturing industry or environment preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with ISO 9001 and AS9100
- Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Six Sigma Black Belt, or similar certification
