The Role:
The role will focus on sourcing new vendors and growing vendor partnerships to broaden Sunday’s product offerings.You will be responsible for sourcing, curating, and testing third-party products. The role will require balancing product quality, availability and cost with consumer needs, Sunday quality standards, and brand ethos.Potential sourcing responsibilities include: gardening hardware/tools, battery-powered lawn maintenance tools, irrigation accessories, and consumable garden goods (seeds, bulbs, plants, soils, compost).
You will work with R&D, operations and merchandising teams to assess products against target specifications, develop purchase/production plans, and contribute to manufacturing forecasts. You will evaluate vendors and help develop sourcing risk assessments, and secondary sourcing. You will coordinate with both domestic and overseas suppliers, leveraging existing relationships and building new partnerships with appropriate suppliers. You will track product and vendor performance over time using customer service reports and other data to ensure quality standards are met.
As part of a fast-growing start-up environment, this role expands beyond a desk sourcing role. The position will include additional capacities such as physical product testing, initial item set up, vendor site visits and presentations to team members. You will help manage new product roll out by inputting all necessary item descriptions, shipping information, and payment terms. You will also contribute to website readiness through the procurement of necessary digital assets. You will work closely with internal and external teams including operations/supply chain, technology, customer service, and marketing.

Sourcing products from existing and new suppliers
Researching, vetting, and building new supplier relationships
Developing and assuring adherence to quality standards of both new and existing suppliers
Sales/margin analysis on new and existing products
Coordination of new product item set up and vendor onboarding
About You:
5-10 years of hands-on product sourcing/buying - both domestic and international
Organized, process-oriented individual
Excellent technical and interpersonal skills
Experience in lawn, garden, or agricultural is a plus
Ability to work in a fast paced work environment with little margin for error.
Ability to contribute and build bonds within a dynamic and diverse team. A team first mentality is a strict requirement.
Comfortable working within an often nebulous and rapidly changing environment.
Willingness to meet challenging deadlines and expectations
