Reporting to the AVP Real Estate & Facilities, the Director of Security and Workplace Safety designs, develops, and manages company security and safety programs across all US sites, while supporting international locations. In this role, the Director will establish site specific protocols and guidelines that help create and maintain a safe and secure workplace.
This vital role blends deep subject matter expertise and industry experience to support a fast growing company while working collaboratively across the organization for the protection of our people, assets, and property. We are looking for an experienced, dynamic, strategic thinker and innovative problem solver who values customer service to enhance RingCentral’s overall workplace experience.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee safety and security policies and procedures for all US offices to ensure that RingCentral employees, assets, and property are safe from threats; Identify and resolve business or operational problems and gaps that may impact workplace safety
- Lead strategic and operational implementation of security initiatives and provide analysis of data and industry trends to make recommendations to executive staff for follow-up and/or corrective action; Drive physical and technical due diligence process
- Create, improve, and maintain security protocols and guidelines for programs such as safety and emergency preparedness and recovery, duress notifications and E911 calls, threat assessment, visitor management, and awareness training for staff
- Act as a crisis manager and liaison for emergency issues, including, but not limited to, workplace safety, fire department, and law enforcement
- Conduct sensitive investigations in partnership with HR, Legal, and other groups as required
- Oversee day to day operations on physical security programs that include CCTV, access control, guard force, and fire monitoring; Manage physical security monitoring and response, including audits and inspections to ensure local compliance with proper documentation
- Develop and maintain close relationships with internal and external partners including senior management, planning committees, and working groups, as well as domestic and international counterparts which include security vendors; partner with Legal team on adherence to security protocols and compliance
- Design and build security systems for new sites and expansions, make modifications to current sites, and provide support to international sites for upcoming security project initiatives
- Lead protection services supporting executives, travel-related security needs, or special events, utilizing vendors or third-party vendors where needed
- Have working knowledge of best practices and protocols for security management of data centers
- Develop and manage budgets, timelines, and resourcing plans for major capital projects and expenditures; Drive both cost and operational efficiency through programs while continuously scaling and adapting to a growing company
- Attend meetings, professional seminars, or conferences to keep abreast of changes in executive legislative directives or new technologies impacting security operations
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in corporate security, including threat/risk assessment and mitigation, operations, environmental health and safety, and workplace compliance
- A dynamic, highly motivated thought partner to develop a clear vision and strategy to deliver comprehensive domestic and global safety and security programs along with the ability to execute
- In-depth knowledge of security, have developed and run end-to-end program development and execution, partner management, and demonstrated ability to deliver balancing speed and financial commitments
- Deep strategic capabilities combined with being detail-oriented and hands-on with strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
- Ability to evolve security strategy based on research, data, business direction, and industry trends, while tailoring an approach to highly diverse organizational structures and situations
- Outstanding change management capabilities, demonstrable record of delivering critical solutions within tight time frames, with multiple stakeholder groups, and competing priorities
- Ability to manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of safety and physical security professionals
- Demonstrate a high level of integrity and professionalism to handle sensitive and confidential information
Additional Qualifications:
- Excellent understanding of Feenics, S2, Mercury, Razberi, ExacqVision, HID, and Envoy platforms and equipment
- Experience with contract negotiations
- Ability to read CAD
- Proficient knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Drive
- Excellent verbal/written communication, organizational, technical, analytical, and leadership skills
- B.A./B.S or equivalent work experience
- Domestic travel required, potential for global travel
- Required to carry company paid cell phone
