The Technology Business Operations Lead is responsible for the oversight of the Ahold-Delhaize (AD) eCommerce project portfolio management.  The Lead is a champion of collaboration and partnering across departments to align teams, set goals, execute initiatives, set policies and improve processes throughout the organization.  The Lead will have financial management oversight, in excess of $130M, and look for ways to seize new opportunities and reduce costs.  The position will be responsible for overseeing and measuring resource labor utilization as it pertains to utilization for a resource pool of over 350 technical professionals.  Encourage, advocate and lead skills building university to align with organization skill set needed to continue to be competitive in the marketplace.   Oversight of onboarding and executing contracts and building relationships with third party vendors. This role partners with the Development Leads to evaluate opportunities, and to define business cases and ROI tied to strategic initiatives decided by the business. This role establishes processes and governance for evaluating roadmap priorities, and partners closely with various stakeholders to refine the roadmap.

  • Act as a conduit between the Business and Development teams to insure the best use of resources and budgets.
  • Work independently and with financial teams on oversight of Portfolio and department budget(s) and meet business targets
  • Ability to mentor and create an environment of learning and data sharing throughout IT teams.
  • Be a leader during critical discussions with technical teams to a quick and agreeable solution.
  • Proactively monitor the pulse of financial budgets and detect possible issues before they arise.
  • Identifies and provides strategic input on opportunities as it relates to our overall roadmap and growing the home delivery and pickup business.
  • Partners with business peers to develop business cases and help define ROI
  • Drives relationship and processes with business stakeholders and project managers to define, evolve and manage the eCommerce roadmap
  • Identifies necessary business processes enhancements to drive feature evolution forward and partners with stakeholders to effect business process change
  • Ability to identify and drive forward new opportunity with integrated third-party relationships
  • Acts as a top-level adviser to the IT Executive Lead and senior operations leaders, as well as a sounding board for ideas.
  • Knowledgeable in audit, compliance and contract management to oversee execution and provide guidance to team
  • Works as a partner with the Development leadership and coordinates the implementation of new features and changes across IT domain areas.
  • Focuses on delivering a best-in-class experience and usability for the business
  • Works closely with Project Managers on large cross IT and company projects
  • This person must be skilled at building trust and consensus with the Leads of Development and their development staff. Must create visions and mutual respect so that others will follow in order build great products. Gets the most out of the teams by inspiring them with the vision versus them being forced to.
  • Seeing the big picture, removing hurdles, guiding the team, helping them see the end goal of a product and following each member to help address their individual responsibilities is what makes a Product Manager good at his/her job.

 

The Essentials In Your Cart - The required ingredients 

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 10 years’ experience in eCommerce Project and/or Portfolio Management
  • 10 years’ experience in Financial management
  • Broad understanding of eCommerce business processes and interdependencies
  • Experienced in working with Development and Product teams

  • Is a subject matter expert for the Technical and Product Project Portfolio supporting Ahold Delhaize’s strategic eCommerce business.
  • Proven Management leader - Strong interpersonal skills; presentation experience to small and large groups both internally and externally, and strong leadership presence
  • Broad understanding of eCommerce business processes and interdependencies
  • High-level technical understanding (development methodologies, phases, etc.)
  • Proven track record in working collaboratively across functional areas to drive results
  • Fast learner and self-starter
  • Experienced within Waterfall and Scrum Agile methodologies
  • Deep experience with project management tools like Jira, Slack and Confluence
  • Strong financial, contract, technology and eCommerce background
  • Proven track record of oversee IT Project Portfolios
  • Deep knowledge of the AD business and customers
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills; presentation experience to small and large groups both internally and externally
