Director, Supply Chain Solutions
Job Description:
The Global Director, Advanced Manufacturing Supply Chain Solutions (AMSS), is responsible for developing the strategy and overall execution of Arrow’s AMSS capabilities; leading the AMSS organization to deliver financial goals including revenue, operating income, and inventory turns targets. With tight alignment to the sales division, this role will develop capabilities, deliver solutions on time, and meet customer supply chain optimization objectives. Optimization requires an extensive modeling capability to be developed within Arrow, utilizing freight and service level data, tariff mitigation strategies, and overall risk and working capital objectives. The Director, AMSS, has expert knowledge of the business and can leverage Arrow’s and our service partner capabilities, to build relationships and grow our brand.
Leadership:
- Recruit, hire, and mentor, top Supply Chain talent. Sets the tone for their delivery by providing a professional demeanor and appropriate responsiveness to the organization
- Strategically manages all internal and external service providers to deliver to customer expectations
- Ensures high potential talent by guiding managers on recruiting, hiring, performance reviews, development plans, and promotional opportunities
Sales:
- Creates a vision and strategy for the respective business/sales team
- Provides leadership in achieving maximum sales, profitability, and growth
- Uses sales data, SLA’s, and metrics to implement systems and processes to grow and improve sales team
- Has a senior-level understanding of the marketplace and trends, able to find solutions to shortcomings in sales numbers through actively managing opportunities
- Ensures the AMSS sales team is meeting the expectations of the business unit by measuring performance results against goals
Relationship Building:
- Creates a partnership with service partners and customers with trust and respect as foundational elements
- Dedicated to leveraging relationships to enhance the brand, sales, and profitability
- Acts with Arrow, vendors, and customers in mind in all decision making
What you will be doing
- Deliver a high degree of customer experience by defining customer requirements and tailoring service delivery to achieve stated goals
- Meet stated revenue goals- collaborate with the Component sales leaders to profile and target new customers
- Manage overall program costs and cost of goods sold to achieve overall profitability requirements as stated by OI
- Develop strong working relationships with the EMS partner community that is used within the program
- Achieve stated inventory turns objectives and return on working capital goals
- Oversee the on-going delivery of program services and support regular business reviews with sales and our customers
- Drive a substantial improvement in performance with the Arrow AMSS North America business and launch the program services in Europe
- Establish relationships with key contacts at major customers in a business development role, including making customer visits and attendance at trade shows
- Ability to get results from a cross-functional team in a changing and competitive commercial environment
- Interface with Arrow Component sales leaders to effectively represent the capabilities and manage customer service through delivery and invoice
- Collaborate extensively with the supply chain/asset management team to improve materials management and inventory utilization
What we are looking for
- 15 years of related experience with a four-year degree or 12 years and an advanced degree strongly preferred
- Leadership to managers, supervisors, and/or professional staff
- Accountability for the performance and results of multiple customer programs
- Development of business strategies to support the overall growth and profitability of the AMSS program
- Oversight of resources and policy formation in the area of responsibility
- Crafting decisions using resource availability and functional objectives
- Expanding beyond existing capabilities to define and resolve very complex customer challenges
- Actively providing input to functional or departmental strategy
