Reporting to the SVP of Portfolio Strategy and Operations, the Director, Portfolio Strategy and Operations will enable Carbon Black to develop key strategies and manage the constant steering of our business to maintain our status as a pioneer in the continuously competitive cyber security space. 

 

In addition to developing and managing frameworks and programs for strategic decisions, the Director, Portfolio Strategy and Operations will lead the development of the governance and reporting metrics that ensure that our product and portfolio strategies are delivering on their intended objectives.  As a successful candidate, you will need to be a structured and collaborative problem solver in addition to bringing strong analytical skills and an executive presence to work each day.

 

What you’ll do

Own key strategic projects for the company- responsible for their completion
Organize, develop and maintain the data assets we use to steer our product portfolio strategy decisions, whether customer, financial and or market data, so that we have a single source of truth for executive decision support
Design, develop and represent new strategies cross-functionally and to the Cb executive team
Develop bespoke analysis around the most critical performance issues facing modern hi-growth SaaS companies, including:
Market trends (technology, competitive and customer needs)
Customer Trends (product usage, customer segmentation, customer lifecycle analysis)
Product and portfolio economics
Represent key strategic initiatives to the broader organization as well as the executive team members
Help prepare materials for board of director meetings, senior leadership meetings, and executive offsite meetings
What you’ll bring

Minimum of 10 years’ experience in strategy, financial planning or operations strategy management, of which 3-4 years’ software experience (dev?)
Significant strategy development experience across a portfolio of SaaS-style products and technology services and a demonstrated ability to:
Work with data science teams to analyze, structure and enabling the organization to leverage data to make rapid decisions
Manage a portfolio prioritization process across a number of products to align investment opportunities with financial outcomes
Partner with product and business line leaders to create product/initiative level business forecasts
Strong interpersonal skills to connect and align both executive leadership and front line development and sales teams against company objectives
Experience in designing, guiding and analyzing market research to drive portfolio, pricing and other strategic decisions
Financial and or consulting experience is beneficial, however real world experience at a senior level is required
