Overview

FLX Solutions, Inc. is a robotics startup developing low-cost, 3D printed snake-like robots for inspection and repair that increase worker safety and decrease downtime at a price that makes robotics affordable for all. We have recently been accepted to the Boomtown/UpRamp/CableLabs Hardware & Connectivity Tech Accelerator to work with the telecom industry to solve their problems using our robotic technologies.

This position is responsible for leading business development efforts towards successfully raising a Seed funding round in 2020. You will be the second employee balancing out the founder and will have the opportunity to build out the business side. 

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Fundraising-specific:
    • Leading fundraising efforts with strategic corporate partners and Angels/VCs.
    • Developing product-market-fit and accompanying go to market strategy.
    • Market research and analysis.
    • Crafting pitch and investor slide decks.
  • Building out the business side of FLX Solutions (ongoing)
    • Opportunity to create organizational structure.
    • Hire and lead team for marketing, sales, and supply chain.
    • Manage operational and financial tasks.
    • Develop and grow the FLX Solutions brand.

Requirements:

  • Willing to work full-time for FLX Solutions
  • Ability to relocate and/or commute to the Boulder, CO area for 12 weeks from mid-Feb to mid-May 2020
  • Have “done this before”

Skills, Experience, and Attributes:

  • Have led/been involved in the successful fundraising of capital at an early stage tech startup (ideally hardware)
  • Worked at an early stage startup and understand the culture
  • Have a Rolodex of contacts and a plan to make it happen
  • Is self-starting and gets it done right the first time
  • Comfortable with 21st century business tech (web conference, Dropbox, etc.)
  • Willing to fight (cleanly) for what they believe in but accept (graciously) the outcome if they are overruled
  • Strong communicator whom people enjoy talking to and working with
  • Can sell just about anything to anyone without them feeling slimy
  • Education: Ideally have a diploma from somewhere in something but experience from the school of hard knocks is equally sufficient
