Reporting to the Chief Information Security Officer, the Director, Information Security will help secure the organization's business lines, including Wireless, DBS, Sling, and OnTech. This individual will interface with leaders across the DISH enterprise, and ensure successful implementation of security initiatives in this area.
This leader will be empowered to build new teams and capabilities in all of our business lines.. This leader will have a broad cybersecurity background along with experience in cloud security, identity and access management, and security engineering.
In this role, you will:• Identify and address areas needing process improvement, including security engineering, perimeter security, cloud security, and identity/access management• Oversee vendors performing security services associated with our security program• Oversee security teams including security engineering, perimeter security, cloud security, and identity/access management• Collaborates across the organization to define patterns that help mitigate cybersecurity risks in our enterprise environment• Think and act strategically, staying abreast of trends and advances in IT/security solutions and monitoring changes in the operating environment that affect information security• Provides thought leadership using business communications, active collaboration, and leading cross-functional groups to deliver security goals• Mentor Information Security and Information Technology team members • Take ownership of key initiatives, coordinating strategies with other business leaders to ensure successful execution• Present business updates, recommendations, strategic opportunities, and assessments to leadership and senior management as needed• Develop, maintain, and communicate the cybersecurity strategy• Develop relationships with business leaders, striving for ways to enable business initiatives while preserving cybersecurity principles• Act as a trusted advisor to the CISO

This leader will play a vital role in the success of DISH's future. He or she will have the opportunity to lend their vision to how DISH secures critical systems, customer data, and employee data.. The wide-ranging nature of the position will afford this leader oversight and influence into many aspects of the business. As a result, we expect potential candidates to meet a level of education and experience that demonstrates they can be successful in this role.
The ideal candidate will have:• Strong networking and management skills• The ability to influence people across the organization• Experience developing and enacting long-term growth strategies• Proven ability to form productive relationships across business lines and within the marketplace• Strong business and commercial acumen• Executive presence and the ability to communicate effectively across varying audiences• Collaborative, hands-on approach to work that is reflected through their management style and employee communications• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related/equivalent field• Experience managing and developing teams• At least 10 years of cybersecurity experience• Demonstrated ability to build and execute complex security plans• Experience working with compliance and regulatory requirements• Leadership characteristics as shown by a history of inspiring and motivating people to a common purpose at all levels within a company• Excellent communication skills including the ability to simplify key messages, present compelling stories, and promote technical and personal credibility with technical and non-technical audiences• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or equivalent certification
Salary Range
Compensation: $175,000.00/Year - $225,000.00/Year
