Job Description

Under the direction of the Chief Sustainability & Global Public Policy Officer, the Director, Global Sustainability, will be responsible for helping implement key programs and initiatives that continue advancing FIS’ global sustainability efforts for and across its key stakeholder groups, including investors, client, colleagues, communities, regulators and government officials.

About the team

This position is part of the Corporate & External Affairs (CEA) team, which is a critical component of FIS’ global RISCS Function (Risk, Information Security, Compliance & Sustainability) function. The CEA team is responsible for the relationship management of key corporate and risk stakeholders, including non-governmental organizations (NGOs), regulators, government officials, clients and employees. Effectively managing relationships with these key stakeholders is key to FIS’ long-term success.

What you will be doing

Core Roles

  • Assist the Chief Sustainability Officer in leading and advancing FIS’ global sustainability efforts.

  • Serve as the Senior Project Manager for the implementation of key sustainability initiatives, including FIS’ new climate action plan and supply-chain initiatives.

  • Serve as a senior FIS representative, presenting to investor, client and stakeholder meetings either with the Chief Sustainability Officer and or independently.

  • Serve as an advisor to the FIS lines of business on sustainability issues.

  • Serve as Manager of all external ESG audits, including environmental.

  • Serve as Tactical Manager of the development and publication of FIS’ global sustainability report.

  • Oversee operational communications programs for ESG stakeholders.

  • Serve as a Primary Liaison to key Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs).

Key Duties

  • Identify and analyze emerging ESG issues that will impact FIS operations or its stakeholders, evaluating specific risks and opportunities.

  • Design and implement processes for securing and maintaining metrics required for key ESG rating agencies and other stakeholders.

  • Oversee the completion and proper disclosure of ESG rating agency surveys and submissions.

  • Design strategies to communicate FIS’ sustainability efforts both internally and externally, working closely with Corporate Communications, Marketing, Investor Relations and other internal and external stakeholders.

  • Manage the development and publication of ESG / sustainability content for the company’s website, social channels, intranet, yammer, etc.

  • Help manage the development and publication of the company’s annual sustainability report.

  • Manage the day-to-day operation of FIS’ internal Global Sustainability Center of Excellence.

  • Assist the sales and client relationship management teams with prospect request for proposals (RFPs).

  • Further develop and drive the implementation of FIS’ environmental management programs, including helping the company achieve its aspirational 2025 carbon emission and renewable energy goals.

  • Further develop and drive the implementation of FIS’ sustainable supply-chain and vendor partner programs.

  • Help further develop and drive implementation of FIS’ framework for financial inclusion.

  • Assist the lines of business in the development of ESG-related products and services.

What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) degree required.

  • A minimum of 8-12 years of progressively responsible experience in similar roles; experience implementing similar programs is strongly preferred.

  • Involvement in developing sustainability strategies, including the materiality assessment process.

  • Strong ability to develop positive relationships and lead through influence with internal and external partners, build consensus and drive action and results.

  • Exceptional project management skills and the ability to structure and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and drive to completion.

  • Ability to work within a complex and often ambiguous environment.

  • Self-starter with a demonstrated ability to thrive in a team-based environment that is fast-paced and rapidly changing.
