Director of Fraud Mitigation
Ibotta is seeking a Director of Fraud Mitigation to help us build and operate world class fraud detection, prevention, and investigation capabilities that balance an amazing customer experience with minimal fraud dollar loss. This role will partner with product, engineering, marketing, finance, security, and customer support to devise and execute on a company-wide Fraud mitigation program, and will lead the day-to-day detection, prevention, and investigation of all fraud-related efforts in support of that program. The ideal candidate will be an experienced, collaborative and inspiring leader with a track record of attracting, developing and retaining world-class talent.
This position is located in Denver, Colorado or with the option of full-time remote. Candidates must live in the United States, Canada, or Mexico.
What you will be doing:

- Collaborate and coordinate with stakeholders across the business to define Fraud Program strategic objectives and key performance indicators, and work cross-functionally to ensure alignment and support of program initiatives
- Devise and report on Fraud Program metrics and progress to company wide stakeholders
- Lead and develop Decision Science, Data Science, Fraud Investigation and Data Analyst professionals who are responsible for data analysis, experimentation, advanced analytics solution development, deployment and sustainment, and incident response and fraud investigations.
- Set clear expectations for team members, solicit, synthesize and deliver feedback
- Proactively identify and clear roadblocks for the team
- Promote and maintain a healthy and collaborative culture across the team and broader organization
- Actively coach and mentor team members in their careers
- Partner with our internal audit, legal, client, product, and technology teams to ensure Ibotta’s Fraud Program capabilities exceed requirements for all current and future regulatory requirements such as Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX)
- Stay abreast of the latest fraud prevention risks and technology trends to recommend and redirect Ibotta’s tactical efforts to mitigate risk
What we are looking for:
- 5+ years of technology leadership with a proven ability to build fun, high performing teams, retain top talent, and lead complex technical initiatives
- 10+ years of experience as a risk management (fraud/security/privacy analyst, engineer, data scientist, etc.) or business analytics professional
- Bachelor’s degree in analytics/mathematics/statistics/data science/computer science/economics
- Successful track record of developing, motivating and inspiring multi-discipline teams
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the proven ability to collaborate across functional areas to define, prioritize and implement risk mitigation solutions
- Experience building analytics solutions in the areas of Marketing, Product, Recommendations/Personalization and/or Fraud Prevention
- Experience using modern data analysis tools (Python, R, SAS, etc.) and visualization tools (Looker, Mode, Tableau, etc.)

- AWS
- Experience with distributed big-data tools (Spark, Hive, Presto, etc.)
- Industry Certifications (CFE, CISM, CRM, etc.)

Additional Details:
- This position is located in Denver, CO or with the option of full-time remote and includes competitive pay, flexible time off, benefits package (including medical, dental, vision), Lifestyle Spending Account, 401k match, profit sharing and equity. Candidates must live in the United States, Canada, or Mexico.
- Base compensation range: $140,000 - $180,000. Total compensation for this role also includes a variable component in addition to base salary. This compensation range is specific to the state of Colorado's local labor market and may vary for employees living in other areas.
