How you'll make an impact
As The Director of Business Systems & IT Operations you will ensure that SonderMind team members have the systems and IT infrastructure to do their jobs effectively and securely. You will be responsible for leading the strategy, planning, and management of all aspects of systems (SaaS applications, desktop software) and IT (hardware, network). In addition, you will be responsible for ensuring the security and compliance of our ecosystem. As our ideal candidate, you have a strong background in technology, particularly supporting high growth, healthcare companies, and are a people leader that inspires team members.
Success looks like
- Assume management of IT MSP while developing cross-functional relationships to understand team processes and their existing systems and IT usage / needs
- Identify and implement solutions to ensure smooth systems operations while addressing high priority IT security needs to progress towards being audit ready at all times
- Develop a systems architecture, and systems roadmap to achieve it, that progresses SonderMind in a meaningful way
- Build a world class business systems & IT operations organization that has outsized company impact. Continually look for process optimization and automation opportunities and work with the business stakeholders in the prioritization, development and implementation of solutions. Ensure goals support the short-term needs of the business while also planning for the long-term growth of the company
What you'll do
- Systems Architecture: Build systems architecture that promotes efficient, integrated workflows for SonderMind teams while centering those systems within an overall strategy. Lead Systems Managers to ensure an optimized systems platform while maximizing the utilization of existing business applications and technologies to meet business requirements.
- Security: Responsible for all aspects of IT security (eg. firewalls, anti-virus solutions, intrusion detection systems, encryption, and awareness training), including developing company-wide best practices and leading projects that improve security controls. Investigate and document security breaches and other cyber security incidents, assess the damage caused and report findings
- IT Operations : Responsible for IT operations including management of the entire Google Workplace environment ensuring appropriate access and capabilities are enabled to support the strategic needs of the organization. Supervise IT vendor in their administration of the day-to-day technical support of SonderMind's team members, including identifying and addressing root causes to continuously improve IT solutions and acting as an escalation point.
What you'll bring with you
Required Experience
- Minimum 10 years of systems and / or IT operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
- Experience in high growth environment leading the development of a team
- Experience creating and standardizing processes and best practices, specifically in security and compliance
- Experience with selecting, implementing and managing SaaS applications
- Motivated to identify and drive projects to successful completion
- Ability to establish strong and productive working relationships at all levels and drive/influence organizational change management
- Critical and structured thinking, business acumen and executive level influence to formulate and obtain support for plans
Preferred Experience
- Previous healthcare IT operations/ systems experience; understanding of HIPAA compliance

Our Benefits
The anticipated salary range for this role is $150,000- $170,000. This role is eligible to participate in our equity incentive and variable bonus plan. Actual compensation is based commensurate with qualifications and experience.
