About the Role
Under the direction of the Information Technology Manager, the IT Support Technician will provide first-level general support to company employees in the areas of software applications, PC’s, printers, phones, and technologies used throughout the company. This individual will work on a variety of projects and system administration activities in our efforts to maintain existing systems and to research, plan, and implement new solutions. The ideal candidate will possess a mix of superior IT talent, solid project management skills, and written and oral communication skills. The department is collaborative and the candidate should embrace and enjoy such a setting.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Set up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices (routers, printers etc.)
Check computer hardware (HDD, mouses, keyboards etc.) to ensure functionality
Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications
Develop and maintain local networks in ways that optimize performance
Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems
Maintain licenses and upgrade schedules
Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment
Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their work
Assists end users in resolving hardware and software issues (repair or replace parts, debugging etc.)
Maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule
Identify computer or network equipment shortages and place orders
Administer & identify optimization opportunities for existing systems
Manage asset tagging program & ensure equipment is properly checked out and returned
Desired Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
3+ years’ experience in computer networks and systems maintenance
2+ years’ experience on current network operating systems
Understanding of IT principles and an ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to a varied audience
In depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks
Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles
Certification as IT Technician will be an advantage (e.g. CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional)

This position will include a competitive salary and benefits, and may be eligible to earn stock options based on individual contribution and company performance. Compensation commensurate with experience.
