SUMMARY

The Data Quality Analyst will work across all Lines of Business (LOBs) and teams to analyze data and data handling procedures as well as research questions regarding how various values are being derived and used in the Wunderman Data Product (WDP) systems. The Analyst will strive to ensure WDP meets the highest data quality standards and demonstrates impeccable adherence to data privacy regulations. This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Write SQL queries to gather and analyze data, research complex issues using a variety of WDP tools and resources (including both proprietary and non-proprietary software)
  • Data extraction, interpretation and integration from multiple database / operational systems for report and graph production, evaluation, and ongoing development
  • Create and monitor log files / reports to help identify data and product issues
  • Identify data patterns, trends, problems and inconsistencies; actively research and resolve issues, or drive requirements into technology to resolve the issues
  • Support sales, operations, and technology with resolution of data- and privacy-related issues
  • Research best practices and makes recommendations to key stakeholders for adoption of systems, tools and processes, based on analysis of findings
  • Be an active contributor to process development best practices, operational efficiencies and process/application documentation
  • Articulate data quality vision and roadmap to team members and across all functions including sales, operations, technology, and executive management
  • Establish and maintain feedback loop from sales, operations, technology, and executive management teams to gather input on current and future data quality and privacy priorities
  • Assist in testing new system or product releases
  • Assist in development and/or delivery of data quality and privacy training programs as needed
  • Stay current with best practices in data quality management, including adherence to data privacy laws and regulations

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, the ideal candidate would have experience in the following areas: an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years’ experience in database / direct / digital marketing industries, experience in both B2C and B2B preferred
  • 5+ years process design and management in an open system environment with a focus on database and/or digital marketing systems
  • Strong working knowledge of SQL and data analysis; prefer experience in one/more of Linux, Unix, SAS, Angoss
  • Solid understanding of data structures, including complex object relationships; prefer experience in one/more of Oracle, Hadoop, Snowflake
  • Possess strong analytical skills and the ability to solve complex problems through analytics and data-driven decision-making
  • Ability to balance thoughtful consideration of potential options with the ability to solve problems, get things done and bring people and teams along through the process
  • Strong time management and organizational skills to produce quality and timely work
  • Self-directed, proactive, independent thinker, with an ability to learn quickly and make sound business decisions
  • Ability to operate independently, juggle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously in a results oriented environment
  • Aptitude to author and present product / system requirements documents, including associated business justifications
  • Working knowledge of product / system development and evaluation processes
  • Passion for data quality
