Position Description
The Cyber Security Analyst lI is responsible for planning and implementing security measures to protect computer systems, networks, and data at Zayo. This role manages the Information Security program, including handling routine information security investigations, reporting, monitoring, and improvement efforts.
Responsibilities:
Review, analyze, and respond to security escalations.
Ensuring corporate security policies are in practice within the associated areas of ownership.
Perform risk assessments and risk mitigation of networks, systems, and services.
Support, enhance and create automation for security monitoring and alerting.
Manage and support security applications.
Provide recommendations and standards for securing systems and services using the corporate security policies.
Participate in and provide security awareness training.
Focused on analyzing and managing risk and architecting the steps to mitigate these risks with the associated stakeholders.
Qualifications:
2-4 years of practical experience in a Security Analyst or Security Administrator role.
Experience administering endpoint and network security technologies such as antivirus, firewalls, IDS/IPS, web filtering (proxies), email filtering, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), and SIEM solutions.
Knowledge of security frameworks and governing bodies such as the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
Experience with technical concepts including scripting, correlation, and coding.
Experience with open source security solutions.
Strong troubleshooting and incident response skills
Strong understanding of best practices for various technical areas within security
Excellent written and oral communications
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to offer multiple solutions to technical and operational support challenges
Ability to document detailed procedures of the relevant security environment
Ability to execute and define the vision for the areas of ownership assigned within the Security organization
Ability to manage various areas in security, ensure that these areas follow industry best practice, and ensure program effectiveness.
Self-starter with the ability to work in a small, dynamic team and tackle new projects and concepts.
Ability to analyze lessons learned with the intention to improve the security program ongoing.
