Salary Range: $20.00 - $30.00

Job Description Summary:
Responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing 3 or 5 axis DMS/FMT CNC routers; engages with the customer via telephone, e-mail, and in-person.  Travels (up to 75%) to customer locations; utilizes customer and in-house information to resolve customer problems as efficiently as possible

Primary Responsibilities:
Travels on customer site visits up to 75 % of the time
Takes customer service calls and works to logically and systematically identify and resolve machine failures and faults in efficient manner; utilizes information provided by customer over the phone or email of engineering drawings, written problem statements, schematics, wiring and assembly drawings, engineering data, and updates the case from follow-up phone calls and emails.
Updates documentation as required for departmental processes (travel expense reports, status updates, service call case management, etc.)
Tracks personal learning progress by completing the Technician Level 4 training plan; complete all steps in training plan to advance to next technician level
Utilizes a variety of shop equipment, such as hand and power tools, hoists, and machine tools; also uses special electrical and electronic equipment such as oscilloscope, amp, volt, and ohm meters, multi-meter, ball bars, calibration lasers, etc.
Utilizes safe working habits, follows CNC safety protocols and customer site safety protocols; is conscientious to not endanger self, others, equipment, or property; maintains work area in a neat and orderly manner to minimize unsafe conditions
Attends training sessions as needed to advance personal proficiency and knowledge
Provides input for process improvement regarding departmental processes
Assists in training other technicians within the department
Other duties as assigned
Good attendance and punctuality are essential must be reliable.

Qualifications:
Associate Degree or equivalent experience in a related technical field
Eight years experience with basic electronics, CNC and/or mechanics background, controller and PLC knowledge
Fanuc controller experience a plus
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Able to work in a room with multiple people on the phones
Handle each call/visit in the best interest of both customer and company; engages with customer on the phone and in the field in a professional manner
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills that can be applied to CNC router troubleshooting
Resolves issues on the phone or in the field correctly with no return calls/trips required
Adapt to changing assignments as needed for training or production floor needs
Ability to be self-motivated to achieve training goals and/or complete customer visits on time
Ability to work with other employees to achieve group commitments and goals
Be flexible for travel schedule in order to meet scheduling needs of the customer; be willing to work long days when required to complete the customer visit
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both in writing and in speech when engaging with the customer and co-workers
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time, occasionally in hot and/or loud conditions.  Candidate should be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl or climb and work from a ladder.
Good Vision ability to include: color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
Exposure to risk of electrical shock, machine mechanical movements, fumes and/or airborne particles.
