As a Claims Associate you'll be an integral claims team member focused on responding quickly to our policyholder's requests by listening and addressing their concerns. By being the first point of contact, your role must provide an experience that lives into our brand - "as easy as pie." A successful Claims Associate will be able to actively listen, seek to understand, find the answers, and guide our policyholders and partners through their inquiries as well as providing the tangible information that they're looking for.
How You'll Do It

    • Primary first-level contact for all claims administrative tasks.
    • Prioritizes, organizes, and responds to claims inquiries, requests, and needs.
    • Timely response to Pie policy holders and partners and internal team members through all communication channels, including phone, email, and Slack.
    • Provides and creates loss run verification and reports as needed for internal and external requests.
    • Provides medical panels and claims kits as needed to our policyholders.
    • Provides timely coverage confirmation to our Third Party Administrator (TPA ) requests.
    • Handles and routes communications to necessary stakeholders and business departments.
    • Takes appropriate action on all physical claims mail received by Pie.
    • Adheres to and applies all claims protocols and guidelines as necessary.
    • Supports all other claims projects as assigned.


The Right Stuff

    • HS diploma or equivalent required; some post secondary education, such as college coursework/certification/training is preferred.
    • 1+ year(s) of experience in a claims administration, general office administration or customer service representative role is preferred.
    • 1+ year(s) of experience using multiple data and/or communication platforms, experience in Google (G-Suite) and Slack is preferred.
    • Effective and Efficient: Skillfully manage multiple systems, platforms, and tasks. Self-organized and are able to ensure that things are taken care of for our policyholders and for Pie.
    • Calm Under Pressure: Adept in calmly defusing difficult situations. Able to take a frustrated and unhappy policyholder or partner interaction and situation and turn it into one of mutual understanding, satisfaction, and even loyalty building.
    • Multi-tasking: Ability to change tasks from one thing to another. Ability to shift focus and re-organizing priorities often. Possess meticulous attention to detail.

Compensation Range for position: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
Each year Pie reviews company performance and may grant discretionary bonuses to eligible team members.

This role has the option to be hybrid or remote. Hybrid work locations provide team members with the flexibility of working partially from our Denver or DC office and from home. Remote team members must live and work in the United States*, and have access to reliable, high-speed internet.
