 DAT Solutions delivers a variety of software solutions from mobile apps used by truck drivers to CRM systems that run multinational third-party logistics providers. The Opportunity

We are seeking a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) who will play a pivotal role as a strategic advisor to our CEO and be a prominent member of the Executive Leadership team. The CTO will be accountable for establishing DAT’s technical vision and leading all aspects of the company’s existing and future state technology portfolio.

As the CTO, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on our business growth. You will serve as the technology visionary and evangelist for the industry, developing software products and solutions that streamline business processes and drive increased revenue. Additionally, you will be challenged to continuously seek new ways to drive efficiency and automation within our technology organization, supporting the growth and profitability of our company.

Key Responsibilities

Executive Management

  • Participates on the CEO’s council and senior leader’s team to translate strategic objectives into technology solutions.
  • Acts as primary liaison for the company’s technology via regular written and in-person communications internally and externally.
  • Oversees system architecture, development, IT Operations, and Security to execute company product and technology strategies.
  • Proactively tracks and incorporates emerging technologies, tools and best practices.
  • Evaluates and implements changes to create a better experience for clients that fuels sales growth and new product development.

Development

  • Provide direct technical oversight for all revenue-producing software products including overseeing continual enhancements and upgrades to maintain a competitive advantage.
  • Create, manage and facilitate an efficient technology architecture for new product launches and product enhancements.
  • Manage a team to develop and validate requirements, manage project scope, provide detailed schedules and manage costs to budget.  Mitigate risk.
  • Direct and structure a team to liaise and effectively communicate with internal systems support employees to ensure smooth operations and problem resolution.
  • Ensures that the technology team consistently achieves successful on time delivery and quality as expressed by stakeholder requirements.

Leadership

Required Qualifications

  • 15+ years of professional experience with at least 8 years in a senior officer, vice president or similar level capacity
  • Proven track record in building and leading high-performance engineering teams of 100+ 
  • Exceptional cross-functional collaborator with the ability to bring people along with your vision
  • Direct experience with SaaS (or cloud based) B2B services required; subscription services and/or two-sided network experience preferred
  • Familiarity with Angular, TypeScript, Node.js, Java, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and AWS
  • Demonstrated ability to build technology solutions from the ground up and optimize existing applications, balancing short-term and long-term technology investments

Location

This role can sit out of one of DAT’s co-HQs: Denver, CO or Beaverton, OR. This role is based in office 2 days per week.

In compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the minimum salary for this role is $300,000 + target bonus, equity, and benefits. The maximum compensation for this role can vary significantly depending on your job-related skills and experience. DAT considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education and training, core skills, internal equity, and market and business elements when extending an offer.
