Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced business integrator to work closely with our CEO to help grow Kion and support our internal team. While the CEO is focused on vision, long-term strategy, new partnerships, and culture, the COO is focused on day-to-day management of departmental directors, translating high level strategy into execution, and methodically improving internal systems. The COO reports to the CEO, and all other leadership team members report directly to the COO. We currently use the EOS system to run our business, so the COO must be interested in using this model. 

Our ideal COO loves working with others and provides stability, guidance, and mentorship for all team members. The COO helps our team focus, prioritize, operate and plan logically, resolve issues respectfully and honestly, and hold each other accountable.

This person is invigorated by growth and grounded in realism. Over the next year, we are on track to double our revenue and the size of our team, and our COO must be excited by challenges presented in growing a young, enthusiastic team, balancing multiple complex projects at once, and having fun throughout.

As for skills, we are looking for someone who has experience working in a fast-paced environment and responding well to change and new ideas. You must already possess the following skills:

  • Leadership: advanced self-awareness and exceptional verbal and written communication skills for leading large groups

  • Operations: developing and maintaining business operational systems and processes in a fast-growth company

  • Managerial finance: financial statement analysis and P&L management

  • Legal: negotiation, establishing business terms, contract review and feedback

Additionally, we are looking for someone with the following experience and background:

  • 10-20 years of professional experience 

  • Minimum of five years in a leadership role

  • MBA preferred

  • Experience working in E-Commerce preferred

People with Whom You Will Interface 

  • You will be supervised by our CEO

  • You will supervise the Operations Director, Marketing Director, and Director of Finance and Administration
