Charged-Off Recovery Specialist

The Payment Support and Collections Team at OnDeck provides OnDeck Merchants with payment support options to fit their unique situations and businesses allowing them to maintain personal and professional dignity as they fulfill their financial obligation to OnDeck.
The Charged-Off Collections team is newly formed at OnDeck with the first members providing direction and ideas concerning the form and methods we will use for success.
This is a perfect opportunity for an experienced large-balance collector to make an impact in a new and developing role. You will help build out our processes and best practices as you contact Merchants to aide them in fulfilling their unpaid obligations. OnDeck possesses a collection floor unlike any other with opportunity to learn all aspects of the company, grow your reputation and positively affect the company as a whole.
As a Charged-Off Recovery Specialist at OnDeck on the Payment Support Team, you will:
- Establish contact with Merchants to discuss and formulate plans of action aimed at allowing them to fulfill their financial obligations to OnDeck.
- Make recommendations to upper management concerning escalation of accounts into litigation.
Necessary qualifications for success:
- 2 plus years experience in collections of larger balance accounts, preferably in the business to business charged-off arena
- Aptitude to learn new systems and migrate successfully through them
- Strong communication skills dealing with both internal and external partners
- Knowledge of collection laws and standards both at the state and federal levels
- Aptitude for critical thinking allowing for creative solutions to Merchant’s problems and situations
Nice-to-haves (not required):
- CRM system experience
- Strong excel and word abilities
- Legal Collection experience and knowledge
