What you will be doing

The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for defining (and/or redefining) business needs for FIS Retirement Suite, new and/or enhanced products, services and optimized business processes.  The Senior Business Analyst is an active participant in all phases of the project lifecycle and will be required to work closely with a variety of internal and external business partners to ensure that all business requirements are understood, documented and met. The Senior Business Analyst generally works on projects of medium to high complexity.  The Senior Business Analyst also coaches and mentors other team members in both the Business Analyst role and business knowledge/system to assist in project delivery. Escalate problems and pertinent issues to manager or project manager as appropriate. This position interacts directly with FIS clients to assist them in the articulation of their business needs so that FIS can respond appropriately to the work order in hand. The Senior Business Analyst must work to understand the client’s business, processes, and goals to offer accurate, valuable analysis and recommendations.  The ideal candidate will have Retirement Services experience with Omni background.  

  • Leads the definition and assessment of complex or enterprise-wide business needs
  • Acts as a trusted advisor to business partners, internally and externally, to understand their goals and objectives on a regular basis
  • Understands and connects business strategy with technology strategy to recommend optimal solutions in partnership with enterprise architects and engineering managers
  • Ensures a lean agile mindset is applied across an entire business domain, portfolio, or business function
  • Designs business workflows across a set of application or business domains
  • Works on initiatives with high complexity and often high volume, such as a large, diverse number of applications or across a business domain
  • Demonstrates deep knowledge of products/flows within assigned domains
  • Applies integration of technical expertise and knowledge of domain’s business strategy to recommend best practices for technical solutions
  • Makes decisions that are in alignment with the domain’s broader business strategy and future priorities
  • Identifies non-obvious relationships and anomalies often missed by others
  • Balances strategic and pragmatic concerns when solving problems
  • Detects and overcomes issues before the broader team is aware of them
  • Deconstructs highly complex problems into discrete work streams
  • Provides a clear and concise explanation of business strategy, technical concepts, designs, or implementation to a non-technical audience across domain(s)
  • Communicates technical vision to all parties involved within an initiative across domain(s)
  • Identifies impact across domain(s) and resolves technical conflicts and competing priorities

What you bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information systems or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience. Master’s degree desirable.
  • Requires 6+ years of experience as a Business Analyst
  • 6+ years of combined experience working with OmniPlus, business analyst, technical analyst or QA Analyst role 
  • 2+ years of leading a team of 2+ members 
  • Knowledge of financial services industry
  • Experience working in a digital transformation program
  • Experience with API’s and web services integration
  • Experience with AWS deployments and tools a plus
  • Knowledge of end-to-end systems development life cycles, i.e., waterfall, iterative and other modern approaches to software development
  • Proficiency in solutions design and requirements definition disciplines leveraging model driven design based tools and techniques including conceptual solution component models, business process models, use cases, etc.
  • Excellent customer service skills that build high levels of customer satisfaction for internal and external clients
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels in the organization, e.g., executive, management, individual contributors
  • Willingly shares relevant technical and/or industry knowledge and expertise to other resources
    Excellent analytical, decision-making, problem-solving, team, and time management skills
  • Ability to persuade and influence others on the best approach to take
  • Ability to estimate work effort for project sub-plans or small projects and ensure the project is successfully completed
  • Is resourceful and proactive in gathering information and sharing ideas

     

Added bonus if you have:

  • Prefer a knowledge of DB2 and COBOL
  • Cloud services experience a plus
  • Must be self-directed, organized, detail-oriented, and be able to meet tight deadlines 
  • Demonstrate problem-solving skills 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills 
  • Demonstrates professionalism and responsiveness at all times on the job 
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and an ability to work with all personality types to overcome obstacles and keep on schedule 
  • Advanced MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
