We are seeking a Business Operations Manager to join our team and help us achieve our ambitious goals for our business and the planet.

What you get to do:

  • Design, Implement and Build the critical operational systems that enable Uplight’s Implementation and Reporting teams to effectively support our customer base.
  • Manage the day to day operations of the organization by tracking, monitoring and reporting on organizational performance.
  • Manage squad capacity planning and reporting.
  • Manage time and project financial tracking system for the Utility Operations Squad.
  • Implement, manage and improve systems to facilitate Utility operations activities.
  • Coordinate with Sales Enablement to track renewals and upsell opportunities.
  • Work closely with the Utility Ops and Exec leadership teams to map strategic objectives to tactical process changes.
  • Lead critical internal initiatives designed to increase customer satisfaction, drive efficiency or reduce costs.
  • Work closely within Finance to ensure Utility Operations is accurately forecasting revenue, costs, and headcount needs.

What you will contribute:

  • Relentless focus on quality, process improvement and efficiency with the ability to define cross-functional processes.
  • A solution-focused mindset with the ability to not only effectively manage internal escalations but to identify and drive key process improvements across Uplight.
  • Ability to partner closely with key partner teams (finance, customer success, engineering), with the ability to work at senior levels of the company and individual contributors.
  • You will breakdown down ambiguous problems into manageable components and design and execute optimal solutions
  • A willingness to “get your hands dirty” by digging into complex operations and an interest in designing programs that are able to operate efficiently and consistently at enterprise scale
  • Perform regular data deep dives to identify key strategic insights for Utility Operations to ensure that implementation, account improvement and renewal goals are achieved.

What you bring to Uplight:

  • 5+ years experience successfully managing an organization’s human resources, finances and/or operations (or similar)
  • Ability to successfully navigate complex organizational structures (internal and external), often with highly ambiguous objectives and success criteria.
  • Experience with databases and project management software with the ability to extract and process complex data sets.
  • The ability to interpret financial data, build and manage budgets, navigate complex profit and loss models.
  • Ability to define, communicate, measure and report key process indicators (KPIs) for a complex organization.
  • Proven ability implementing operational management systems including time tracking, financial performance management, project status reporting, and resource planning.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex issues/needs in a clear, precise, and actionable manner to influence and advocate change at all levels of the company and customers
  • Demonstrated success working directly with clients, including issue resolution, addressing designing operational/status reporting, and cultivating business partnerships
  • BSc in Business Management or relevant field

Bonus Points:

  • Deep working knowledge of the Utilities industry and supporting business processes, with the ability to map high-level customer requirements into elegant and efficient data solutions.
  • Experience managing a P&L center with working knowledge including time/cost tracking, revenue recognition principles and revenue/profit optimization.
