As a Mobile Developer assigned to Product Prototyping, you will explore new product ideas and rapidly develop functional proof of concepts utilizing a mix of technologies including cloud, mobile, and cross-platform hardware solutions. You will be expected to tackle challenges in an agile cross-functional team environment.

This role will directly impact Derive Systems' engineering efforts as we continue to foster innovative ideas within the autotechnology area. You must be a driven self-starter who can take initaitive in delivering on project (and company-wide) goals. You must be comfortable working within new and diverse environments and geographically dispersed teams. Your communication skills must be superior and effective- both written and verbal.

Minimum Requirements:

• Knowledge of industry best practices in interface design for major platforms like Android, iOS, and HTML 5
• Mobile App experience with Android native development or iOS Objective-C/Swift, integration with web services (REST, JSON, SOAP), XML, HTML5, CSS3, Javascript.
• Cloud computing experience with one or more major platforms: Google Cloud Platform (Cloud Datastore, BigQuery, SQL), Azure (Azure IOT), and AWS (IoT Platform)
• Embedded systems experience with *nix type systems like Raspberry Pi and Beaglebone or Arduino
• Ability to mock-up designs in HTML/CSS & JavaScript.

Preferred Requirements:

• 4+ years in engineering field
• BS Engineering or related technical degree
• Familiarity with automotive industry and interfacing with OBDII (CAN)
• Strong knowledge of phone features such as accelerometer, camera, GPS and experience integrating with these functions.
