As a writer for the website at SendGrid, you will be part of the core team responsible for crafting innovative experiences and designing language that speaks directly to our wide set of customers. You’ll play a key role in crafting the user experience, working with designers, product managers, product marketers, user researchers, engineering, and many other stakeholders.

You’ll help maintain and evolve the SendGrid voice and tone while ensuring consistency across our website and product. While doing so, you’ll have the tools and cross-company support to refine and optimize our customer experience.

What You’ll Do:

  • Shape the user experience using SendGrid’s voice and tone
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative user research to deeply understand our customers’ motivations, needs, and content effectiveness
  • Refine our content guidelines, develop content patterns, and evolve our voice and tone guidelines
  • Present and rationalize work at product and design reviews
  • Contribute to marketing’s revenue goals by understanding the sales funnel and how copy contributes to signups
  • Write content for our many customer touchpoints that includes anything from landing pages to buttons and error messages
  • Help set and drive the vision for a cohesive, omnichannel customer strategy and narrative across multiple products, touchpoints, and audiences
  • Manage multiple projects throughout the product development process
  • Act as a lead copyeditor on website and UI copy, paying intense attention to detail

About You:

  • You have 5-7  years of experience writing content for web and mobile
  • You have a track record of collaborating with a wide set of stakeholders and bringing a positive outlook to your collaboration
  • You have experience working with content standards, such as style and voice and tone guidelines
  • You are at ease managing multiple projects, setting stakeholder expectations, working individually and collaborating across teams
  • You have experience using data to gather key business and user insights to shape the voice and tone
  • You have experience writing for SaaS websites or products
  • You’ve worked directly with designers to craft a great user experience
  • You’re passionate about clear copy that drives action and you’re relentless in your pursuit of consistency and clarity
