Azevtec (Autonomous, Zero-Emission Vehicle Technologies) is automating 'first-mile' trucking. We simplify how large enterprises ship goods—our robotic systems automate repetitive vehicle movement and manual tasks in the world’s busiest freight-shipping hubs to enhance operational performance, reduce costs, and improve safety.

Azevtec is a rapidly growing, Series-A company founded to drive the adoption of sustainable transportation and deploy autonomous vehicles responsibly.

The position

Azevtec seeks a clear-thinking and hands-on corporate/product marketing leader to fill the VP of Marketing role. This executive will work closely with senior management to lead the Azevtec marketing and public relations function with the first objective being to immediately launch our category-defining vehicle automation solution, which aims to redefine supply-chain operations in the Fortune 500. The launch plan will focus on the positioning, introduction, and momentum-building of the Azevtec offering to audiences in its target customer segments, the media, and the investor community.

 

The ideal candidate

We’re looking for a creative, connected, successful technology executive with demonstrated business results bringing software and hardware products to market. This executive should have the ability to garner instant credibility with internal stakeholders -- engineering, commercial, and operations teams -- and external constituents, including customers, investors, partners, the media and the public.

 

She or he will be a collaborative team player and B2B marketing expert with extensive experience driving multi-channel awareness of, attracting interest in, and ultimately creating revenue/strategic opportunities for enterprise technologies.

The ideal candidate will embrace our goals of driving the adoption of zero-emission transportation technology, enabling the socially responsible deployment of autonomous vehicles, and building a new, multi-billion dollar category of industrial automation.

 

Candidates worthy of review will have a referenceable track record of launching products, developing outbound communications strategies and materials, and measurably increasing customer, investor, media, and candidate inbound interest over time.

Responsibilities

  • Position, launch, and support the Azevtec autonomous vehicle system
  • Guide the company’s outbound PR and marketing activities across the full product lifecycle, from beta-stage product to commercialization and volume deployment
  • Establish Azevtec’s technical problem and market opportunity as one with appeal and significance for audiences in the transportation, talent, investor, media, and labor union communities
  • Assume a lead role in developing marketing materials from scratch, including videos, sales and investor presentations, website content, social media messaging, and event participation/sponsorship
  • Collaborate with executive, engineering, and commercial team leaders to write and issue press releases that drive relevant media coverage, press inquiries, customer leads, investor interest, and candidate applications
  • Help the Azevtec executive and department leads convert inbound interest into quantifiable business activity, including meetings, phone calls, interviews, and pitches with all audience types
  • Define, build and lead the marketing organization and function, with responsibility for product marketing, corporate marketing, and PR
  • Recruit and retain exceptional product, corporate, and PR marketing talent and vendors
  • Develop objectives and KPIs to measure the success of the marketing function

 

Required qualifications

  • Success in building and leading corporate and product marketing and PR functions for enterprise-focused systems/services companies
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to develop marketing materials with little direction
  • Clear capability with guerrilla marketing techniques (i.e., maximizing corporate exposure through unpaid channels, including media mentions, social media, in-house video/collateral development)
  • Collaborative work style and philosophy of extreme ownership and accountability as validated by superiors, peers, and subordinates
  • Embrace of environmental technologies and familiarity with/interest in related markets
  • Bachelor’s degree

 

Ideal qualifications

  • Background within a related technology context/setting such as in software, manufacturing, logistics, supply chain, transportation industries, automation
  • Experience with mobile robotics, industrial automation, transportation or autonomous vehicles
  • BS or MS in a related technical field - mechanical/computer/electrical engineering, robotics, and/or computer science
  • Exceptional skills/experience with software applications for in-house collateral development (e.g., Powerpoint, Illustrator)
  • Enterprise value-building success, whether via venture capital financings, M&A, or IPO activity
