VP of Marketing

The VP of Marketing will oversee the strategy, optimization, and management of the performance, CRM and brand marketing channels to drive growth at Artifact Uprising. You will lead the entire marketing organization, including customer acquisition, retention, brand, and creative - integrating them all together into a cohesive set of needle-moving initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of the acquisition, retention, & brand marketing landscape and have experience leading and integrating these for a data-centric eCommerce business
Critical to the role will be your ability to leverage multiple data sources and analysis to develop a strategy, translate that strategy into tactics and tests, and work cross-functionally to efficiently execute. You are familiar with how to develop strong value propositions, leverage a strong brand, and test creative across performance, brand, and CRM channels. You will also oversee the allocation of a large monthly marketing budget, oversee the marketing calendar, and develop go-to-market strategies for new products.
Finally, you enjoy rolling up your sleeves and working with your team hands-on to level up their strategic thinking, technical skills and leadership abilities.
As a part of the executive team, the VP of Marketing will partner with the CEO and the executive team to regularly assess the company's long-term company strategy and implement the marketing organization continuing pieces of that strategy. You will partner closely with the VP of Product to advise and support A/B testing & site optimization as well as the Chief Experience Officer to launch & market new physical products developed by the company.
Performance Marketing Responsibilities
- Lead a team of focused performance and CRM experts
- Set overall performance priorities
- Oversee the development, recommendation, and execution of marketing programs across a variety of paid channels including Facebook, Instagram, Google, Affiliates, Display, CTV, other social platforms and offline channels like TV/OTT & Podcast/Radio and catalog
- Embrace a test and learn mentality, pushing to explore new and innovative marketing channels
- Partner with your team to drive the acquisition roadmap including creative development, audience testing, budget management and landing-page strategy
- Ensure cohesion with the creative team to make sure all performance marketing assets are built effectively as well as gather learnings to improve them
- Strategic oversight of customer engagement strategies
- Partner with VP of Product to develop long-term site experience roadmap
Creative and Brand marketing Responsibilities
- Lead a team of focused brand marketing and creative experts
- Set overall brand marketing priorities, marketing calendar and promotional strategy
- Ensure consistency of brand via creative, photography and copy
- Oversee the development, recommendation, and execution of marketing programs across brand channels such as PR, influencer organic social, content and partnerships
- Communicate strong value prop across all touch points of consumer engagement (website, email, social, ect)
- Oversee the development of efficient workflows for creative products
- Develop go-to-market strategies for new physical product launches
Qualifications
- At least 6 years of experience in running marketing for a direct-to-consumer business that is both performance marketing and brand-driven
- At least ten years of progressive marketing experience with some brand management or brand marketing experience
- Deep understanding of the full marketing funnel, attribution, and how various channels interplay with one another to ultimately drive ROI
- Knowledge of best practices and tactics across social media channels including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, etc.
- Familiarity with attribution, testing and development of data infrastructure to support customer segmentation strategies
- Clear comfort with managing a business based upon a customer economic model and understanding of overall company P&L drivers
- Demonstrated history of building new revenue streams and/or increasing existing customer repeat purchase
- Demonstrated ability to successfully launch and market new products
- History of using consumer insights to inform strategic planning
- Exceptional analytical skills: expert in Excel, Google Analytics, BI tools, with a keen ability to articulate results and learning
- Preference for working hands-on with with leaders of small teams
