DESCRIPTION
The Vice President, Communications will work to develop and implement communications strategies for Bluprint. This high-profile position serves as the key Communications lead for content, talent, marketing, editorial, integrations and business development teams. A creative and strategic leader who can pivot between high level planning and hands on media relations activities.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The Vice President, Communications will:

  • Develop and implement consumer, trade & business media strategies and outreach for Bluprint and brand extensions.
  • Oversee Communications/media relations activities to include:
    • Position Bluprint as a leader in the DIY/creative space
    • Develop campaigns supporting content, marketing and e-commerce initiatives
    • Leverage Bluprint talent for local and national press opportunities
    • Identify creative pitch angles to encourage coverage of content offerings
  • Serve as key Communications contact for CEO as well as heads of marketing, creative, research, and finance teams, providing PR counsel and support.
  • Work in partnership and collaboration with People and Human Resources teams.
  • Work closely with NBCU Legal and Business Affairs teams.
  • Provide senior executive support for speaking engagements, industry events and presentations, including speeches and talking points.
  • Manage internal communications for the brand, including NBCU corporate website updates.
  • Identify key opportunities for exposure within the Comcast community and throughout 30 Rock and UCP.
  • Manage and direct PR agency and overall campaign priorities.
  • Serve as liaison to President, Strategy & Commercial Growth team.
  • Provide general Communications support to Cable Comms Entertainment team on key projects.
  • Provide Media Training support and counsel to Execs and Bluprint talent.
  • Track and disseminate press coverage.

REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate:
Has at least 10 years of public relations/communications experience (5+ at the executive level). Corporate entertainment/television experience preferred

• Is a demonstrated brand builder and creative strategist who can work in a hectic and fast paced high volume environment.
• The ability to manage many competing priorities at once is paramount to the position’s success.
• Is highly collaborative and is a relationship builder and unifier with colleagues at all levels
• Has strong existing relationships with industry media, including business and trade journalists
• Approaches their role strategically and creatively
• Has a deep understanding of the Media landscape.
