The Vendor Marketing Manager strategically plans, executes, and analyzes vendor marketing activities aligned with specific solution categories. They lead product marketing messaging and direction for each solution category they are responsible for by aligning with Pax8 Solution Consultants, Vendor Success Managers (VSM), and the Content Marketing team to deliver campaigns that benefit vendors and enable partner growth. Goals for this position are to support current partners as they upsell additional vendors; thus, resulting in increased net new vendor adds and revenue in the solution category, increased vendor satisfaction, and improved vendor experience. Our vendors are the companies whose cloud-based solutions we make available to Managed Service Providers (MSPs) to sell to their customers.

The Vendor Marketing Manager works across multiple teams to deliver and streamline product content, vendor marketing, and vendor/product communications. They are embedded within our strategic vendor partnerships to support product launches and execute marketing plans, product planning, and content development. 

Responsibilities (includes but not limited to):

  • Manages vendor marketing plans and initiatives within relevant PICSNC categories proactively, and as assigned by the Vendor Marketing Director
  • Creates 6-month marketing plan for solution categories and aligns with vendor marketing guide offerings to facilitate the implementation of vendor campaigns and tactical promotions
  • Collaborates with marketing team on the development and delivery of new vendor marketing guide offerings
  • With a strong working knowledge of solution categories technology, directs content creation for category marketing campaigns that include vendor participation
  • Identifies thought leaders and topics - including research, information gathering, technical investigation, testing, and publishing
  • Ensures funds are ingested, recorded, and reported with accuracy and integrity
  • Partners with Vendor Success team as primary marketing liaison for assigned categories, delivering results to VSM
  • Actively manages vendor marketing relationships in conjunction with VSMs through planning meetings and proactive communication.
  • Manages and reports on project status; provides VSMs and vendors with updates on active and concluded campaigns, working alongside Demand Generation and Vendor Marketing teams to provide relevant and applicable reporting on status and ROI to each vendor
  • Communicates campaigns, benefits, and reporting metrics to the vendors (and the VSMs in parallel); effectively positions campaign metrics, reviews, and retrospectives, understanding the vendor’s point of view and lens
  • Listens to and applies vendor feedback strategically and with discernment
  • Understands business and technical product requirements and constraints, and translates that input to drive strategic marketing development and planning
  • Management and maintenance of vendor marketing relationships
  • Conducts future planning for each relevant vendor or category; documents commitments and next steps
  • Oversees relevant content and information updates to ensure accuracy
  • Attends vendor QBRs and check-ins, prepared to report on all marketing activities
  • Contribute to positive NPS scores
  • Leads marketing efforts for all new vendor launches in concert with the product team
  • Learns, utilizes, improves, and advocates for tools and processes that enable a more streamlined vendor management ecosystem at Pax8.

Ideal Skills, Experiences, and Competencies

  • At least eight (8) years of relevant experience, preferably in B2B technology marketing and/or channel marketing (vendor or product marketing experience especially preferred)
  • Understanding of sales/channel requirements and the ability to communicate the value proposition of products to the sales team and develop sales tools that support the selling process of products
  • Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects in response to shifting initiatives
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to multitask and manage multiple projects in a cross-functional work environment
  • Ability to be highly organized and process driven with an eye for detail
  • Strong communication and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to anticipate and balance the needs of multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to apply knowledge of business and the marketplace to advance the organization's goals
  • Ability to hold self and others accountable to meet commitments
  • Ability to adapt approach and demeanor in real time to match the shifting demands of different situations
  • Ability to see ahead to future possibilities and translate them to breakthrough strategies

  • Understanding of IT channels and/or distribution is preferred

Required Education & Certifications:

  • B.A./B.S. degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field of study; or equivalent work experience

Compensation:

  • Qualified candidates can expect a salary beginning at $85,000 or more depending on experience

*Note: Compensation is benchmarked on local market rates. Qualified candidates in other locations can expect a salary package that may be adjusted based off applicable cost of wages in their respective location.
