 Blue Moon Digital, Inc. is seeking an Email Solutions Specialist II to be a part of our growing digital marketing agency in our Denver office.  The Email Solutions Specialist will be responsible for the development, implementation and execution of email campaigns for our global client base in order to maximize ROI and support our clients’ business strategies. 


This Specialist II will work with the VP of Operations on a variety of email service provider platforms. The Specialist will also be responsible for coding and executing our clients’ email programs.  This position requires proficiency with HTML and CSS optimized for email, Email Service Providers (Salesforce Marketing Cloud (ExactTarget), Responsys, Silverpop, MailChimp, Bronto, etc.), Excel, Photoshop, as well as strong written and verbal communication skills. In addition to email campaign creation, the Specialist may assist with email list management, defining creative templates, and email best practices.

Job Responsibilities

  • Email layout and HTML coding for client emails
  • Coding with HTML and text content emails and landing pages
  • Restructuring and/or hand-coding (raw coding) HTML templates to meet design standards
  • Conversion of full Photoshop documents to HTML templates
  • Working with pre-existing HTML templates and providing design and image editing
  • Testing emails for compatibility across all email providers on multiple digital platforms
  • Troubleshooting and resolving coding issues in a timely manner
  • Working knowledge of email strategies to effectively drive consumer engagement on the website
  • Development of email campaigns, including (but not limited to) trigger-based, responsive design and re-contact email campaigns
  • Staying informed of industry trends, technology and design/coding changes as related to email marketing
  • Continually audit existing client email creative and facilitate steps to ensure a consistent look and feel for our clients’ email programs
  • Work with internal and external IT resources to ensure essential technical steps are taken for proper email program setup and integration
  • Ensure our client’s email files are properly maintained: Opt-In, Opt-out updates, ECOA, etc.
  • Ensure all client emails comply with current CAN-SPAM and other email legislation
  • Some after-hours and/or weekend support required; especially October through December
  • Excellent project management skills; ability to prioritize tasks across multiple clients and timelines

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent work experience) in Graphic Design, Marketing, or Business Communications
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of email or marketing experience
  • 2+ years’ experience in Salesforce Marketing Cloud (ExactTarget) email platform required
  • 1+ year experience in SQL/Amp-Scripting
  • Experience with Responsys and/or Bronto a plus
  • Advanced experience with Email Service Providers
  • Email metrics reporting from ESP and Google Analytics
  • Solid technical skills and expertise with HTML and CSS optimized for email deployment with an understanding of the difference between coding for the web and coding for email
  • Strong expertise with Adobe PhotoShop, Dreamweaver, and animated gifs/flash
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments with effective resolution of conflicting priorities
  • An upbeat, team-oriented attitude; willing to learn and adapt to a new environment
  • Ability to work quickly and methodically in an ever-evolving industry
  • Strong attention to detail required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Excel, Access and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work well under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Knowledge of Email Best Practices and CAN-SPAM compliancy considerations

Preferred Skills:

  • Advanced experience with email testing software (render testing), working with email deployment platforms, and troubleshooting creative and deployment issues
  • Experience working with integrated email marketing platforms and subscriber lifecycle messaging
  • Experience with Omniture SiteCatalyst, Google Analytics and Coremetrics web analytics programs
