Position Summary: The Tag Manager Specialist will be responsible for the implementation and management of Google Tag Manager and the accurate attribution of our different platforms and strategies. This position will work closely with data-driven marketing team to help connect the dots of all the different touch points in the customer’s journey.

Essential Functions / Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage sites’ containers and implementation of tags
  • Document current tags, triggers and variables and create new naming conventions
  • QA all tags and delete or edit as needed to deploy tags as efficiently as possible 
  • Help develop and maintain marketing’s data governance 
  • Manage operations and governance of Google Analytics
  • Diagnose issues with advertising platforms and tags and help resolve discrepancy issues
  • Develop, test and debug custom event tagging and custom HTML in Google Tag Manager
  • Lead strategy in creating custom metrics and dimensions to help evolve marketing’s attributions efforts
  • Assist in creating and implementing strategies to connect data points across marketing touch points and website properties to understand and optimize the user journey
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills Required:

  • The internal drive to test and implement tags and willingness to learn and adapt along with current best practices is paramount
  • Driven by performance, understands how to connect the dots between touch points to stitch user journeys
  • Experience with data insertion and extraction via APIs
  • Advanced level of Excel or Google Sheets skills, including building dashboards and report templates combining multiple data sources
  • Knowledge of latest industry trends on advertising platforms and attribution models
  • Proven organizational and project management skills
  • Detail-oriented and organized with a passion for leveraging data to create actionable insights
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience with the Google platform (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Hangouts, Google Analytics)
  • Experience with project management tools (Trello, Asana, Jira, Basecamp, Flow, ClickUp)

Minimum Requirements:

  • 2+ years experience in Google Tag Manager and/or measuring ecommerce performance
  • Experience with Google Analytics and GTM, certifications required
  • Experience with interpreting large amounts of data for actionable insights
  • Knowledge of, or experience with, any of the following including HTML, Javascript, or JSON desired
  • Experience with Data Studio and/or Tableau
  • Experience with Drupal desired

This position does not supervise the work of others.
