Sr. Product Marketing Manager
Since 1998, SambaSafety has been the pioneer and leading provider of driver risk management software in North America. Our mission is to guide our customers including employers, fleet managers and insurance providers to make the right decision at the right time. By collecting, correlating and analyzing motor vehicle records (MVRs) and other data sources, we identify driver risk and enable our customers to modify their drivers’ behavior, reduce accidents, ensure compliance, and lower costs — ultimately improving driver and community safety.
SambaSafety is currently seeking an experienced Sr. Product Marketing Manager based in our Denver, CO corporate headquarters. As the Sr. Product Marketing Manager for SambaSafety you will an expert at creating targeted, concise, and compelling product messages that will be utilized across multiple channels. This person will immerse themselves in our client’s story by working collaboratively with product management, engineering and marketing to use a range of media and marketing programs to engage our audience. Also, be responsible for inbound and outbound marketing activities including content, material creation and execution of product launches. You'll conceive and develop innovative marketing programs that drive demand. In this role, you will be the expert in buyers, knowing how, when, where and why they buy and will transfer that knowledge to the sales channel through sales tools and training.
Success in this role requires you to be adept at understanding roles in cross functional projects and communicating effectively across the organization. You have a natural ability to drive projects to completion without getting stuck in the “95% there” sinkhole. You should have a keen eye towards metrics/results and must be able to balance practicality with a creative, out-of-the box approach to product marketing. Attention to detail and an eye for quality, along with the ability to grasp and translate technical capabilities into benefits is crucial. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop expertise in our core customer personas and use-cases, as well as potential partner companies, and use that insight to help inform our product roadmap and GTM strategy
- Develop product positioning and messaging that accurately captures our value proposition and deliver that to the market
- Create product-focused, externally facing content on company website and develop sales materials that maps to the specific needs of our buyer personas
- Effectively project manage the development and approval of all communications and content related to new product feature releases
- Defining and creating product collateral including product data sheets, white papers, solution briefs, competitive briefs and battle cards, presentations, videos and web content
- Work with sales and customer success teams to help with training and develop content for competitive positioning, FAQs and cheat sheets
- Develop customer facing content to help prospective customers understand the value of the SambaSafety products/solutions and how our competitive differentiators separate SambaSafety from other vendors in the market
- Work with the sales teams to provide support for new business opportunities and to help identify new industry trends
- Frequent engagement with inside and outside sales teams, channel partners, and distributors to ensure tight and consistent messaging is reaching current and prospective customers
- Partner closely with our customers and the Product team to inform the product strategy, pricing, solutions packaging, and positioning
- Juggle multiple projects in a dynamic, high-pressure environment
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 8+ years of marketing experience
- 4+ years of experience in B2B product marketing for a software company, including experience in product marketing, product management, and/or marketing
- BA or BS degree in Marketing, Communications, or Business – MBA in Marketing or related business degree strongly preferred
- Proven ability to understand technology and explain to multiple audiences
- Very strong written communication skills
- Excellent people and management skills to interact with staff, colleagues and cross-functional teams and third parties
- Strong strategic thinking, creative problem solving and analytical skills
- Creative, high energy, innovative, proactive, and resourceful
- Track record of successfully managing multiple concurrent projects and consistently delivering on time
