How you will contribute 

We are currently hiring for a head of communications who is responsible for developing and executing the communication strategy. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, this senior leader will interact with the entire executive team to evolve a strong and differentiated narrative and launch programs to increase company and product awareness and share of voice. Areas of responsibility include public relations, analyst relations, influencer program, executive communication, internal communication, and crisis communication.

You are a leader and story-teller who has expertise developing communications strategy for PR, AR and internal comms. You listen and understand your audience in order to influence them. You’re not bound to the confines of a job description and know that you may play many roles in getting our stories out to prospective customers. 

How We Will Measure Your Success

  • Build and lead the Red Canary communications team
  • Develop communications strategy to drive awareness and engagement for our targeted audiences of customers, partners, employees, media, etc…
  • Create differentiated thought leadership content to further position the company as a trusted leader in security operations.
  • Accelerate our market-leading position by creating a powerful PR and AR programs that increase Red Canary company and product awareness with customers, partners, press and analysts
  • Partner with executive team members to give them a platform to discuss a variety of topics such as technology leadership, business leadership, social responsibility, etc
  • Partner with our CMO and VP of HR to develop an internal communication strategy to increase engagements and create excitement about the company and brand

Experience and Aptitude

  • 10-15+ years of communications management experience
  • Head of communication at B2B technology company, preferably SaaS company
  • Demonstrable track record in working with senior executives and C-suite members
  • Demonstrable ability to lead and drive end-to-end communication from conception through implementation
  • Track record of increasing brand visibility and reputation
  • Deep experience in crafting differentiated narratives, creating successful thought leadership programs, and crisis communications
  • Expert at leveraging social and digital platforms for communications goals
  • Excellent written, verbal, and public speaking skills
  • Analytical mindset with focus on measuring internal and external communications effectiveness and results
  • Innovation and personal creativity: A positive, “I can make a difference” attitude and demonstrated ability to envision and implement new strategies that have overachieved expectations. Passion for results and performance oriented: The ability to find creative solutions and generate results in a dynamic, high growth environment. Will have a strong sense of urgency and the ability to infuse that in others
  • Must be an effective written and oral communicator with all stakeholders

Targeted base salary range: $140,000- $185,000 depending on experience.
