Job Description

In addition to the foundational job functions of the Product Marketing Manager, the Senior Product Marketing Manager will take on more responsibilities related to meeting goals through strategy, mentorship, cross-functional relationship building, and revenue.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategy: Collaborate with Senior Product Manager(s) and or with Managing Directors to develop product line strategies that lead to development of roadmaps.

  • Plans: Develop product line roadmaps that provide clarity to product development strategic plans and offerings.

  • Revenue & Profitability: Work with Pricing Manager to develop product line pricing, mix and cost saving strategies and tactics to support company's revenue and profitability targets.

  • Research : Facilitate as needed market research and intelligence gathering to determine customer requirements, business opportunities and competitor positioning.

  • R&D : Provide direction to R&D on new product concepts as needed.

  • Promotional Support: Provide cross functional support to Marketing in the development and execution of promotional events, ads, branding, packaging and web sites.

  • Relationship Management: Establish, develop, document and maintain relationships with existing and new customers.

  • Customer Focus: Gather, manage and communicate customer intelligence including contacts, business levels, opportunities, organizational behavior and strategies.

  • Sales Focus: Identify, communicate, manage and secure new sales opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Teamwork- must be able to work as part of a team and act as mentor/coach to other product marketing managers

  • Professionalism- consider your audience in every interaction and tailor the content to meet their needs, be prepared, demonstrate your expertise in the subject matter, ask questions, and listen to get to the root cause

  • Servant Leadership- be willing to roll up your sleeves and work next to your teammates as needed

  • Commitment & Motivation- bring your best ideas to promote your product both internally and externally, let your passion for your job drive enthusiasm amongst the employees

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills- must be able to write in a clear and concise manner to grab the attention and pique curiosity for your product. Be able to identify what is important to your audience and provide the information before they ask for it

  • Excellent customer service attitude- we are a team committed to being a partner and advocate. Show your customer service attitude through the above characteristics and caring about the well-being of the team, the product, your internal, and external customers.
