Senior Director of Product Marketing

The Senior Director of Product Marketing is responsible for the success of the product sales. This key marketing role owns the product positioning, sales tools, competitive analysis, persona research, and customer upsell marketing efforts. This role has significant visibility including working across sales and business development and working closely with the executive team. It includes owning the success of the product marketing and supporting the rest of marketing with the go to market strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of product marketers (4 initially) while driving product marketing strategy
  • Define go to market strategy including positioning, message, materials, training and validation
  • Lead positioning and messaging workshops to gain buy in on value and differentiation per product and product combinations
  • Work with customers and prospects to influence and persuade, define and validate product positioning, key messages and details of feature benefit
  • Identify market patterns and opportunities; consolidate industry trends and challenges into meaningful value-propositions and differentiated messages
  • Become a trusted advisor, product expert and market expert to the sales team and coordinate with sales enablement on continuous sales training
  • Work closely with services and sales to drive cross-sell and upsell marketing programs
  • Work closely with product management team to define product requirements and launch new releases
  • Become a company spokesperson for relevant public relations and analyst events
  • Analyze competitive market dynamics, understand and prioritize threats from competitors and document competitive battle cards to help sales differentiate in competitive situations
  • Create and maintain sales playbooks including positioning, feature/benefits, marketecture
  • Develop and iterate on marketing tools such as collateral product presentations, data sheets, whitepapers, website content
  • Manage and drive product related tracks of our yearly customer conference
  • Define and validate product pricing with the product management team

About You:

  • BS/MS degree in marketing or a related field, MBA preferred
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Director level experience in product marketing with SaaS companies
  • Strong leadership/motivational skills with ability to manage aggressive goals and drive the team to meet those goals
  • Experience in working directly with sales
  • Ability to confidently and enthusiastically present to audiences including coworkers, customers and prospects
  • An enthusiastic, high energy team leader who is viewed as a "doer" on the team and across internal organizations
  • Willing to travel as needed
