Public Relations & Social Media Manager
ManagedMethods is looking for a PR & Social Media Manager to join our growing team! Our ideal candidate is experienced in engaging audiences on social media channels and community forums, brand storytelling, writing, and editing. Our ideal candidate should also understand the news, brand messaging, and how to build media relationships. S/he should also have a general understanding of how social media and earned media impact SEO and business growth goals.
Our ideal candidate is fluent in the fundamentals of public relations and social media. S/he can quickly write a press release, executive bio, craft a targeted pitch or an engaging tweet. S/he is comfortable in a leadership role and driving the execution of communications programs. S/he has experience translating business objectives into strategic media relations and social media initiatives that build brand awareness and drive results.
Our ideal candidate will also have some experience working in a small team with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and projects while weathering change. Responsibilities
Public Relations
Collaborate with the Director of Content Marketing to prepare and implement a PR plan, ensuring that it is in line with the marketing and communication strategy
Conceive and pitch targeted stories to targeted media in tech, education tech, cybersecurity, & similar
Ensure PR strategy and communications are on-brand, on-message, relevant, innovative and effective in driving brand awareness and engagement
Proficient writing, editing and content strategy and development expertise, including experience crafting bylines, blog posts, media pitches, social media content, video scripts, newsletters, executive bios, and briefing sheets
Set and track goals, providing analytics and measurement reports on the current status of PR efforts and ongoing recommendations to influence future PR strategy
Analyze data to determine PR opportunities that help drive business
Monitor industry news and trends, best practices, and competitor brand insights
Collaborate with Director of Content Marketing with SEO backlinking strategy; helping to identify and contact influencers, media, & potential guest posting opportunities
Social Media
Grow ManagedMethods as a thought leader in social forums and online communities
Grow ManagedMethods’ social engagement and interactions
Increase website traffic and conversions from social media
Collaborate with Director of Content Marketing to prepare and implement overall social media plan, including paid promotions, in line with the content calendar, ensuring it drives engagement, traffic, and lead generation objectives
Manage day-to-day content distributed through social channels (currently, LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, & YouTube), respond & moderate social interactions/conversations to build community & engagement
Engage with others in our industry/target market on social media & community forum channels
Lead the way in creating and promoting ManagedMethods’ social video content
Set and track goals, manage reporting of metrics across all channels; identify actionable insights
Analyze social statistics to optimize content, publishing times, etc. to drive more engagement, traffic, etc.
Monitor the competition and develop suggestions for improvements based on this listening and capitalize on trends as they emerge
Stay up to date on social trends and research
Educate & engage internal employees on social media
Basic knowledge of design to create visually appealing social imagery
Requirements
2 - 5 years of B2B communications, public relations or social media experience in an agency and/or fast-paced work environment with a track record of getting results
A knowledgeable, passionate storyteller who loves to create authentic messages for targeted audiences
Effective communicator who can work independently, with self-direction, organization, and planning
Collaborative, team-oriented and focused on producing results
Self-starter with excellent quality standards and a demonstrable history of commitment, accountability and follow through
A sense of urgency & ability to work under tight deadlines
Familiarity with social scheduling/publishing/listening/analytics tools (we’re currently using Hootsuite, but not married to it)
Basic familiarity with social analytics & Google Analytics

Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment
