The PR & Social Media Specialist role will work closely with department leadership and our external PR partner to execute a public relations and social media strategy at our company. This role will develop content for our public relations efforts and develop and drive our brand-level social media and influencer engagement across multiple channels (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, etc.).
The right candidate will be creative, curious, detail-oriented, a team player, and committed to continuous improvement.
Core Requirements and Responsibilities:
Essential job functions included but are not limited to the following:
Work with communications and marketing leadership to develop and execute PR and social media strategies that drive awareness of Vertafore's brand persona, unique position in the marketplace, and award-winning culture.
Project manage initiatives with our external public relations agency and ensure alignment of messaging, timelines, and priorities.
Contribute to the development of PR-related content, including press releases, bylines, and award submissions.
Create original social media content and stories to elevate Vertafore brand awareness, drive positive engagement, and connect with customers, industry thought-leaders and influencers.
Track industry conversations, trends, and competitor news. Identify opportunities to insert Vertafore in trending topics and keep the Vertafore community up-to-date on industry and competitive news.
Supply Vertafore's Sales team with content appropriate for social selling efforts.
Help build and launch Vertafore's B2B influencer marketing initiative.
Monitor social media trends and changes in key social platforms. Propose and develop tactics in response to ensure Vertafore's channels are current with best practices and strategies for content and engagement.
Track and analyze PR and social media metrics and use insights to inform strategy and content.
Triage inbound media requests and social media comments; identify next steps and engage subject-matter experts as needed; and track outcomes through resolution.
Partner with a large, cross-functional team (e.g., product marketing, campaigns, corporate communications, PR, recruiting, etc.) to implement initiatives and ensure that all efforts are coherent and align with overall goals.
Qualifications:
At least 3 years of relevant experience working with PR and social media in a corporate setting. Experience in a B2B or technology company preferred.
Bachelor's degree required. Major in Communications, Journalism, English or related field strongly preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to build connections and identify content opportunities and contributors.
Experience with tools like InDesign, Photoshop, Lumen5, Canva and video editing to create graphics and multimedia content for social preferred.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and a commitment to quality.
Able to digest and integrate feedback from key stakeholders to ensure content meets goals and expectations.
Ability to adhere to brand style guidelines for tone and voice.
Additional Requirements and Details:
Travel required up to 10% of the time.
Located and working from an office location.
Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds.
Frequent repetitive hand and arm movements required to operate a computer.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision (working on a computer, etc.).
Frequent sitting and/or standing.
