Spark is a venture-backed startup with the ambitious goal of disrupting a stale industry. We are looking for a Partnerships Marketing Manager to join our 25 person (and growing) team. 

Our ideal candidate has a proven expertise in brand partnerships or affiliate marketing in a DTC or consumer hardware space. You will define and drive Spark’s key brand and marketing partnerships. Specifically, you will initiate, own, and execute marketing programs that elevate and Spark brand and contribute to acquisition and retention. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Define our strategy and approach for brand and marketing partnerships 
    • Fully own our initial brand partnerships, influencer programs, events and affiliate programs at launch; Help continuously improve and scale these programs over time.
    • Understand the full customer life cycle and how to balance and focus our efforts across multiple initiatives. 
    • Create a test-and-learn culture as you experiment across channels and work collaboratively with team members across departments.
  • Identify, negotiate and manage new strategic opportunities
    • Brainstorm and bring in new opportunities to build awareness, cross promote and help us accomplish key marketing goals across acquisition, activation, retention and advocacy. 
    • Evaluate new partnership opportunities based on a variety of measurable and non-measurable factors, including potential business impact as well as brand / cultural alignment.
    • Negotiate program terms, contracts and scopes of work.
    • Own and manage day-to-day partner relationships; Act the primary point of contact for all programs.
  • Understand who our customers are, what drives them, how to engage with them and what their pain points are. 
    • Collaborate with our marketing and customer experience teams to conduct surveys, interviews, and other research to deeply understand our customers inform actionable personas. 
    • Conduct research to deeply understand the brands and products that resonate with these customer segments, inside and outside of the grilling / cooking categories.
  • Drive insights back to the organization in order to continuously improve our approach.
    • Produce the analysis needed to know what’s working, what’s not, why, and what we should try next. Drive insights that can inform how we define and engage with different customer groups. 
    • Build dashboards for measuring and sharing results on every initiative you are running and own weekly reporting, learning and optimization for these programs.
  • Help us inspire people to connect with others through the act of cooking outside more.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Significant brand partnership or affiliate marketing experience required. 
  • Previous experience in the direct-to-consumer space is desirable. Consumer hardware is also desirable.  
  • Proven leadership and motivational skills. Ability to communicate effectively and solve problems under pressure.
