About Stillwater Brands:

Stillwater Brands (www.stillwater.life) sells some of the leading THC- and CBD-infused edibles products in Colorado, including Ripple Dissolvables, Ripple Gummies, and Ripple QuickSticks.

Stillwater Brands was founded in 2015 when our co-founder’s grandmother asked him to get her a pot brownie. Realizing that grandma cared more about feeling better than getting stoned, our founders set out to develop functional cannabinoid-infused food and beverage products that alleviated the aches and anxieties of everyday life without tipping people into unwanted intoxication or forcing them to self-identify as “drug users.”

About the Job

We are looking for a Marketing Manager to help increase our velocity in Colorado’s recreational marijuana market. Your charge will be to grow sales by: (1) developing and executing trade promotions with our dispensary partners, (2) building a deep understanding of current and potential Ripple consumers and identifying the best channels and messages to reach them, and (3) taking ownership of our seasonal promotions program and tuning it to maximum advantage. This position requires a highly-motivated and extremely organized individual who’s excited to engage with dispensaries, budtenders, and consumers alike. Project management and communication skills are a must. We are a company built on process, and we strongly prefer candidates who like to build things with intention vs. diving in without a plan.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the overall planning, research, and execution of our trade marketing campaigns, consumer marketing campaigns, and consumer research initiatives.
  • Project managing planned campaign and lead generation activities, including but not limited to: print advertising, events, public relations, leadership speaking engagements, and trade shows
  • Managing dispensary marketing efforts and specialized promotions, including but not limited to, in-store displays, in-store events, swag, and relationships.
  • Managing and sustaining budtender and dispensary outreach programs.
  • Project managing all planned campaign and lead generation activities, including but not limited to: print advertising, events, public relations, leadership speaking engagements, and trade shows.
  • Collecting, organizing, and reporting detailed marketing metrics, analyzing those metrics to determine which efforts/outlets were most effective, and recommending spends based on those analyses
  • Maintaining the Stillwater Brands website, sales materials, newsletters, and dispensary collateral; updating and developing additional tools as needed.
  • Serving as a brand steward to ensure our marketing strategy and positioning are accurately represented in all marketing activities and materials.
  • Working in close communication with our Sales team to push trade marketing efforts forward

What we’ll love about you:

  • An authentic love for spending time in and around the business side of the cannabis industry, with a special place in your heart for dispensaries and the people who make them go
  • A deep-seated need to make decisions based on some form of data, and the wherewithal to go out and collect the data you need to make good decisions
  • A left and right brain thinker, equally comfortable in spreadsheets and Illustrator
  • A process-oriented problem solver who can manage complex situations without panicking
  • An organized, proactive nature that loves building systems and tools
  • An emotionally mature adult who prefers to work with other emotionally mature adults
  • An inquisitive, curious nature that views ignorance as an opportunity to learn or teach
  • A willingness to admit error quickly and move immediately on to improvement
  • A clear communicator in any format
  • Excellent time management skills

What you’ll love about us:

  • We are a company, not a cult. We expect you to put in an honest day’s work and then go home to your family. Fire drills are the exception, not the norm.
  • We are a team of competent, motivated, diverse, and decent adults.
  • We offer competitive compensation, 100% paid health benefits, 401k, and a fun, relaxed office environment.
  • We are a workplace of adults who value reasoned debate over political maneuvering. We try to do the right thing and, more importantly, we try to identify and admit when we don’t.
  • We offer flexible PTO for all full-time employees. We too value health, relaxation, and spending time with friends and family.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field
  • 5+ years experience in marketing or project management (preferably both)
  • Advanced skills in working with CRM systems, Acuity Scheduling, Dropbox, and the suite of Google Workspace products (sheets, docs, slides, etc.)
  • Ability to travel for trade shows as needed (<10% post-Covid)%
  • Content, email, social, trade, and traditional marketing experience
  • Familiarity with the Colorado recreational cannabis market
