Truewerk is looking for an experienced marketer with a combination of a marketing and publishing mindset to manage our content and email marketing initiatives, while always thinking “customer first.” In this role, you’ll report directly to the VP of Marketing and provide support across the entire marketing organization with the goal of helping to increase our customer retention activities, search engine visibility, and conversions, while educating customers on our products, and brand initiatives.

Email Marketing (40%)

You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of all email marketing activities, including:

  • Planning, overseeing, and executing email marketing campaigns targeted throughout the customer lifecycle to help Truewerk reach our monthly goals and increase customer lifetime value.

  • Identifying, creating, and tracking automated email flows, including abandoned cart and welcome emails.

  • Partnering with the VP of Marketing to launch A/B tests, analyze results and report to company leadership.

  • Utilizing our email marketing platform (Klaviyo) to build templates, segment audiences, set up tests and coordinate a final quality assurance check before campaigns go live.

Content Marketing and Website Management (45%)

As a startup bringing innovations into an antiquated market, you will help communicate the value of Truewerk’s product differentiators, direct-to-consumer business model, and mission to protect, promote, and empower industrial athletes through developing targeted content. You’ll be responsible for:

  • Working with leadership to develop and manage an editorial calendar and work with the broader Truewerk team to execute new articles.

  • Working with the CEO, VP of Marketing, and the Customer Experience Manager to further refine the Truewerk brand and messaging.

  • Optimizing digital content to ensure both search engine visibility and a positive customer experience.

  • Providing direction and feedback to designers, writers, and third-party business partners.

  • Writing copy for product descriptions, web pages, advertising, public relations, etc. as needed.

  • Editing copy written by the wider team as needed across social media, external and internal communications.

  • Uploading new products, updating existing SKUs and managing changes to web pages in Shopify.

General Marketing Support and Sales Enablement (15%)

As a small (but mighty) team, you’ll need to possess the ability to work cross-functionally and occasionally outside of your specific area of expertise, which could include:

  • Working with the broader team on marketing campaigns and cross-functional initiatives.

  • Understanding and being able to support the customer experience process.

  • Supporting the product development group for on-product messaging opportunities, etc.

  • Supporting the VP of Sales in the developing copy for sales collateral and custom content for key account targets.

  • Serving as an advisor to the sales team on how to best leverage our internal processes and tools to manage and grow our existing business-to-business relationships through email marketing.

About You

Startup life isn’t for everyone. To be successful at a fast growing company you’ll need to possess the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, work well in smaller teams, communicate effectively and be able to interface with customers in a professional and personable way.

  • 3-5 years experience in email marketing, content writing and general marketing.

  • A bachelor’s degree in business or marketing is preferred, but not required. A familiarity or personal experience with trade work would be a bonus.

  • Familiarity with the Google suite of products (Docs, Sheets, etc.)

  • The ability to leverage technology effectively and learn new tools and process with ease. We use a wide range of tools including Klaviyo and Shopify.

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to monitor multiple projects simultaneously and overcome obstacles.

  • A desire to join a fast growing company.
