How you'll make an impact
The Marketing teams at Xero are responsible for increasing awareness of the Xero brand and building and executing creative marketing campaigns that help support various business channels.
As part of our Americas Marketing team, the marketing and analytics function helps to bring campaigns to life through meaningful insights, using various technologies and automation.
What you'll do
- Support the creation of smart, data driven marketing campaigns, by extracting data from the Xero Data Warehouse
- Continuously refine and improve target audiences with the move to full automation
- Build, maintain and adapt reporting resources such as MicroStrategy, Google Data Studio, Power BI and Google Spreadsheets
- Translate and integrate data into business and commercial insight to drive Xero's marketing strategies and tactics
- Take full end-to-end ownership of analytics projects briefed in by the marketing team including post campaign reporting
- Proactively seek out any new data and suggest enhancements to existing process
- Highlight any data quality issues and work through the correction process, liaising with relevant personnel
- Translate and own the digital Americas Marketing Funnel and interpretation of leads and stages to inform decisions
- Work with the data services team on requirements and improvements for the Xero Data Warehouse
- Work with cross-functional teams and data owners to gather data as required to enable reporting and analysis needed by key stakeholders
- Work closely with Sales Operations to ensure sales and marketing alignment with reporting and forecasting
- Scope, conduct and present one-off insight analyses to solve particular business problems

Key to success will be your ability to work effectively as part of the marketing team and deliver results despite tight deadlines. You will have a true appreciation for the evolving nature of data, CRM, automation and marketing technology. Detail focused and self motivated you go above and beyond in delivering best practice campaign plans, analysis and data insights.
What you'll bring with you
Critical competencies
- Strong analytical skills: Able to review large amounts of data from the warehouse and form hypotheses to draw meaningful patterns and insights
- Problem solving mindset: Exceptionally self-motivated and directed, with the ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines with a high standard of quality in the creation of documents and presentations
- Strategic mindset: Ability to develop and replicate the structure and ways of working to grow marketing data and insights
- Strong communication skills: Able to clearly communicate and present findings / recommendations to colleagues and senior management
- Balances stakeholders: Understands the expectations and needs of both internal and external stakeholders, taking a proactive approach to shaping, influencing, balancing and aligning stakeholder interests
Experience
- Minimum 2-3 years experience in an analytical role
- Minimum of 18+ months querying SQL database required
- Experience with Google Analytics and SalesForce tools a plus
- Proven experience working with large databases, including query building and data extraction
- Proven experience reporting on marketing campaign effectiveness and optimisation
