Do you get a thrill out of producing the best user conference? Alteryx Inspire has rapidly grown each year as a must attend "codechella" experience.  Alteryx is seeking an enthusiastic, detail-oriented marketer with a strong events background to join our team and work with the Marketing leadership team to help drive our program to new heights year over year. This role requires a forward-thinking leader with proven event management, analytical, and communication skills to manage Alteryx's most strategically significant conference.  This role will not only be responsible for project management and execution, but will also require someone with creativity and new outside of the box ideas to bring to the Marketing leadership table, aptitude for garnering cross-functional buy in and alignment, collaboration with key stakeholders and upper management, and effective development of integrated communication campaigns for both internal and external participants.
 
The Event Marketing Manager will be responsible for planning, execution and measurement best practices for our annual Inspire Customer Conference in North America and will also consult with the EMEA team for our London Inspire each Fall. Planning for these events are year round and is a major portion of the job responsibility.  In addition, some ad hoc project support will be required. This includes, but is not limited to, managing other corporate events and third party demand generation trade shows.
 

 

 
Responsibilities:

 

  • Assume project management of our annual Marketing Inspire Customer Conference in North America
  • Work with key stakeholders on event strategy and success criteria upfront. Drive discussions across all workstreams to understand goals and historical learnings to develop their success criteria and goals, project plans and requirements, and overall efficiency and seamless execution
  • Take overall responsibility of tracking progress and outcomes across various key performance indicators (KPIs) around growth, efficiency, ROI, and NPS. Report progress and key insights at regular intervals, making adjustments to plans as necessary.
  • Proactively and accurately manage large budgets and forecasts, revenue strategy/models, purchase orders, accounts receivable, and final budget reconciliation with Finance and Accounting
  • Rally cross-functional resources across the company to contribute to the team effort
  • Lead venue/vendor selection process, including RFP's, contract negotiation, and execution with Procurement
  • Manage outside contractors, agencies, and vendors to provide a seamless and exceptional customer experience
  • Help drive content strategy for event with Product Marketing - pulling in key stakeholders to recruit speakers and develop presentations - to ensure we deliver the education and inspiration that attendees expect
  • Strong communication, presentation, and management skills
  • Work with key stakeholders to develop and execute effective, holistic, and integrated marketing campaigns to drive demand to external participants
  • Monitor event marketing metrics (opens, click-throughs, deliverability, registrations, etc.); develop and analyze marketing campaigns, make recommendations for enhancing effectiveness, and report on all qualitative and quantitative results
  • Evaluate current methodologies and generate proposals to improve processes, increase efficiencies, and ultimately enhance our overall conference strategy and production value
  • Stay abreast of the latest event marketing best practices, approaches, innovations and technologies; and share your insights with key stakeholders across the company
  • Partner closely with EMEA counterparts to replicate and roll out successes at our annual London Inspire
  • Manage successful corporate events, 3rd party event sponsorships, and special projects on an ad hoc basis as needed

 

 
Qualifications:

 

  • At least 5 years of successful experience in event marketing, field marketing, and/or demand generation working on 2000+ attendee user conferences
  • Experience working in a B2B software company and working cross-functionally
  • Strong project management skills, demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities within agreed timeline and budget
  • Outstanding communication and collaboration skills are critical
  • Aptitude to deliver exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to understand and use company objectives to drive the theme of events and integrated marketing campaigns
  • Efficient and effective meeting management skills through goal oriented discussions to deliver timely, collaborative, and the best possible outcomes
  • Extremely organized, self-starting, and detail-oriented
  • Must be metrics driven and be a very strong analytic thinker
  • Ability to use CRM, data visualization, and marketing automation systems
