Head of Growth Marketing
JumpCloud is searching for an analytical, data-driven marketer that has demonstrated experience and competency in scaling customer acquisition and lead flow for modern, product led SaaS B2B businesses. Our Growth Marketing leader will have deep experience and passion in developing progressive strategies to plan, experiment, analyze and optimize programs that underpin SaaS product-led business models. Simply put, you are the definition of a modern marketing leader.
JumpCloud lives at the convergence of IT and security. We have developed identity management solutions which are leveraged by thousands of customers globally. In our rapidly scaling business, marketing is the critical driver to exposing and growing the pipeline of ICPs who should be benefiting from our solution. Further, our marketing team works to automate the process of the customer journey through the funnel. Virtually all of our customers engage with our SaaS platform before talking to our sales team and many of our customers see immediate value and buy online. Our preferred model is, of course, a frictionless buying process. Your role is critical in feeding our model by identifying the right audiences, with the right messages, and shepherding our prospects through the buyer journey.
As our Head of Growth Marketing, you’ll own and drive our entire go-to-market strategy that includes our demand generation and customer acquisition functions which are to-date highly digital and automated. You won’t be doing this alone. You will lead and grow a team of progressive marketers who range from content writers, digital marketers, and data/analytics experts to accomplish our goals. You’ll have a deep understanding of data and the methods to analyze it and leverage it to perfect our customer acquisition strategies. You are a marketer who understands the need to experiment, learn and fail fast so no time is wasted, and you are continuing to help the company learn and optimize.

The most exciting aspect of this role is to watch how your programs and execution along with our product literally are disrupting the traditional, old-school monopoly, that has occupied this space for too long. You’ll be challenged to re-think marketing approaches in a cutting edge way leveraging modern philosophies such as product led growth.

What you’ll be doing:
- Develop and execute on our marketing strategy – as a SaaS-based B2B cloud platform, develop and implement our go-to-market strategy. Leverage our product-led growth approach and existing customer base to help create a scalable, programmatic model that can accelerate the company’s growth.
- Generate significant demand cost-effectively – the lifeblood of our organization is our free account leads. Our IT customer is a savvy, "prove it" type of buyer. To generate demand for our SaaS platform, you’ll need to scale our digital demand generation techniques. We track our online efforts with modern tools and approaches and we are constantly in the data, optimizing whatever we can. We play close attention to the quality of our lead flow and the cost, not just the volume.
- Scale our content approach – our customer is interested in learning and is constantly in search of great content that helps make their job easier. Content is a core part of our marketing strategy and we invest heavily in it.
- Own the marketing funnel – own our customer acquisition activities across the board and build a scalable, metrics driven funnel. You’ll be responsible for optimizing each step in our funnel to build more efficiency and scale. One of the key metrics that you will be responsible for is CAC.
- Build our marketing infrastructure – the key to a great marketing organization is a great foundation including an ecommerce style website, strong metrics, the right tools (we use Marketo, Salesforce, and others), and an amazing team.
- Join our leadership team – you’ll be on the leadership team working hand-in-hand with our executives to grow the company. You’ll also work with our board and investors.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Define the structure of the marketing team and hire key marketing roles
- Directly responsible for the marketing budget and for the efficient deployment of that budget
- Define and constantly track key marketing metrics
- Establish and integrate campaign tracking / attribution models across all channels
- Leverage cohort analysis to understand unique behavior of each customer constituent, and use that knowledge to optimize messaging and media to reach each cohort in the most effective way possible.
- Create metrics driven demand generation programs
- Build and manage extensive PPC, display and retargeting programs
- Develop and manage advertising partnerships
- Operate at significant scale
- Execute a content strategy that supports SEO and establishes a thought leadership position in the industry
- Website development, tracking, and analysis
- Optimize site conversion through testing
- Define lead nurturing workflows and apply email marketing automation
- Work closely with sales to ensure marketing is driving sales growth
- Work closely with partners to leverage their reach on our behalf
- Work closely with product to collaborate on customer engagement and feedback
We’re looking for…
- Proven success building and managing marketing teams by exercising top notch people leadership skills
- Experience marketing a SaaS-based product or service is a plus
- Preferably experience marketing to IT organizations
- Highly analytical and data driven approach is a must
- Deep understanding of high volume lead dynamics and conversions
- Digital demand generation and attribution techniques are critica
- Must have experience effectively managing internal and external marketing resources and campaigns at scale
- Possess an intense focus on learning and incorporating that learning into our marketing plans
- Strong understanding of the dynamics of content marketing
- Organized and detail oriented while looking at the big picture - we believe being diligent delivers results
- College degree required; marketing, business or advertising degree a plus.
