Metric Theory is searching for a Director of App Advertising to help run our growing app specialist team. This will be our first fully dedicated app role within our 150+ Account Services team. You would guide app strategy, guide current app specialists and build a broader dedicated app team from the ground up.

 

We are looking for someone with a passion for paid app advertising, well versed in mobile measurement, and a thought leader who wants to join a fast-growing, fun digital agency that is hyper-focused on client performance and ROI. The ideal candidate is confident in their ability to drive improvements in account performance, successfully build and oversee client relationships, and train future app strategists.

 

Our current app specialist team members are experts in Apple Search Ads, Google App Campaigns, and Facebook/Instagram app campaigns, responsible for driving KPI improvements and developing cutting-edge strategies tailored to client goals. You will work with them to lead paid app marketing efforts for 1-2 large client teams: developing strategy, overseeing execution, and communicating directly with the client.

Thought Leadership:

  • Manage agency relationships with all of our dedicated core app networks and mobile measurement partners
  • Guide agency POV and strategy for navigating iOS 14 and future privacy changes
  • Lead app specialization team and trainings on app strategy
  • Share app market research insights with the AS organization, utilizing app intelligence and agency partnerships
  • In partnership with our internal creative team, develop best practices for app creative
  • Distribute thought leadership on app strategy through blog posts on the Metric Theory website
  • Build client facing in-app analytics dashboards with technical support from our Analytics team

Client & Revenue Oversight:

  • Serve as the paid app lead for 1-2 larger MT clients, for which you will guide overall app account strategy and execute campaign builds
  • Make recommendations and optimizations for accounts utilizing MMP insights to improve performance towards client’s goals
  • Conduct app strategy audits and present findings for clients

Team & Revenue Growth:

  • Upon taking on your 2nd client, look to begin hiring a team of additional Account Managers & Sr. Account Managers to support on new app advertising clients
  • Support our sales team in pitching app management capabilities with new prospects
  • Refine our go to market app strategy

Qualifications:

  • At least 6 years of experience in acquisition marketing and/or paid performance media
  • Experience leading iOS and Android app strategy across Facebook, Google App, ASA, and app network buys, as well as executing in platform
  • Proven track-record of increasing in-app lifetime value for eCommerce and/or subscription clients, must have experience optimizing beyond just app acquisition (in-app events and user quality)
  • Knowledge of MMPs, SDKs (especially Facebook and Google Firebase)
  • POV on iOS 14 and upcoming Android privacy changes and how we can navigate tracking with these changes
  • Ability to guide tracking recommendations and in-app event taxonomy for clients
  • Experience working with app intelligence and conducting app market research
  • Experience in a client-facing role

Not a Must, But a Plus:

  • Experience working with ASO partners or in-house teams
  • Exposure to paid push advertising or app pre-installs
  • Experience leading iOS and Android app strategy across TikTok and Snapchat

Compensation:

  • This role is exempt
  • Base Salary: $110,000 to $130,000
  • Target annualized cash bonus: $10,000
  • Target total cash: $120,000 to $140,000
