Job Description:
What You Will Be Doing:
The Marketing Director role is responsible for the strategic marketing engagement and planning with Arrow ECS’s suppliers and leads a team of Supplier Marketing Strategists focused on a supplier or technology area. The strategic planning conducted with the suppliers and partners is holistic in nature, with an eye to the partner’s overall core competencies and sales objectives.
- Leads the marketing strategy planning processes for all technology areas, including go to market and demand generation plans.
- Provides end-to-end oversight for all supplier marketing activities to ensure alignment to overall strategy and flawless execution.
- Drives and motivates the team for delivering outcome using performance marketing with the ability to course correct activities based on KPIs and sales performance.
- Manages the supplier marketing budget and forecast in collaboration with the supplier, channel, and account teams to ensure effective use of MDF as well as non-MDF marketing budget.
Strategy and Planning
- Responsible for providing strategic leadership and ensuring the successful alignment of goals and objectives, which are somewhat complex in nature and have significant impact on the business unit's profitability and strategic direction
- Leads the development of multi-touch and multi-channel marketing strategy and experiences to promote supplier products and solutions. Uses effective internal and external performance benchmarks in planning and pitching effective campaigns to the suppliers resulting in approvals
- Leads the activation of a consistent and branded channel enablement program across all NA suppliers
- Delivers a skills gap analysis for partners with regards to the resources required to effectively cultivate and close the opportunities from the demand generation activities recommended within the marketing plans
- Utilizes in-depth market research to identify the total addressable market opportunity for the business, as part of the marketing planning process
- Acts as a single point of contact for all supplier marketing activities and works to develop marketing strategies and plans to achieve internal and external (supplier) goals and objectives
Financial Management
- Owns the supplier marketing budgeting and forecasting process and keeps team accountable for delivering against outcome and MDF recovery objectives
- Owns marketing investment and spending strategy to deliver ROI through effective marketing execution (by Shared Services) against the marketing plans
Leadership and Innovation
- Motivates and helps train a best in class staff of marketing strategy and planning professionals
- Reviews all supplier marketing campaigns to ensure they adhere to the global campaign planning methodologies
- Acts as the face of Arrow ECS Marketing leadership to the supplier community. Establishes regular leadership cadence/forum with supplier community. Organizes and leads a supplier marketing council
- Ensures supplier marketing team applies a deep understanding of Arrow's value proposition, initiatives, and programs (including branded enablement programs) to guide marketing planning and strategies for the suppliers
What We Are Looking For:
- Typically requires a minimum of 10 years of related experience with a 4-year degree; or 6 years and an advanced degree; or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 6-8 years in a strategic channel marketing role
- Minimum 5 years strategic marketing plan creation experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle several projects at one time.
- Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
- P&L Management experience strongly preferred
