Job Description
TurboTenant is seeking a Director of SEO & Content to help acquire new traffic, leads and customers through consistent organic maintenance and optimization. You will be responsible for identifying and executing opportunities to improve our company’s and our content’s search rank for key terms at the top, middle, and bottom (branded) of our marketing funnel. You will report to the CMO and be in charge of all organic, online, acquisition marketing, including managing the strategy, execution, and optimization across channels. The role requires a confident, self-directed leader who can create and execute on plans, work well cross-functionally, achieve target KPIs, manage a substantial organic marketing initiative, and accurately report on, and analyze the effectiveness of, marketing campaigns. As with most startups, this is more than just a management position: you’ll be on the front lines dealing with a myriad of challenges.
While preference will be given to candidates able to work or relocate to Fort Collins, CO, for the right candidate we would consider a Denver, Boulder or potentially a remote working arrangement.
Responsibilities
Manage both on-page SEO and off-page SEO for the company.
Manage and improve organic search engine performance and goal-setting based on clickthrough rates, traffic, and conversions.
Manage the strategy and setup of all unpaid social media acquisition campaigns.
Measure and optimize our organic, direct and referral marketing using dashboards, Google Analytics, and marketing analytics reports.
Lead a team of content strategists and producers to create regular content to be marketed via all inbound channels (social, email, blog, landing pages, etc.).
Collaborate with marketing teammates to maintain a consistent brand voice and message across all paid programs.
Assist with all aspects of the customer journey, including post-signup email marketing drip campaigns, demos and onboarding.
Craft landing pages and lead generation forms for our content to distribute through relevant paid programs.
Stay up-to-date with search trends and potential new channels and strategies to keep us ahead, including updates to search engine algorithms, social media marketing, link building and tracking & analytics.
Increase brand awareness, digital lead generation, and digitally-sourced / -enabled revenue leveraging content and creative developed by other marketing team members
Monitor campaign effectiveness as contacts progress from site visitor, to signups, to customer, to repeat customers / evangelists.
Create and monitor A/B tests to increase advertising efficiency and reduce customer acquisition cost.
Serve as the subject matter expert and overall performance owner for SEO efforts.
Manage content creation agencies and freelancers.
Requirements

Experience and skills needed:
BA/BS degree in marketing, communications, finance or related field.
Minimum 5 years digital marketing experience working for growth-oriented tech companies
Experience handling organic marketing that has resulted in thousands of organic customers and significant company growth.
In-depth knowledge of all organic marketing best practices , including link building, content creation, growth-hacking, virality, and content promotion. You must be an expert in crafting content that matters.
A deep understanding of technical SEO on topics such as schema, page speed, sitemaps, etc.
Firm grasp of SEM and paid digital marketing best practices (while you will not be directly responsible for paid advertising, you’ll be working closely with our paid ads team).
A dual-minded approach: You’re highly creative and an excellent writer but can also be process-driven, think scale, and rely on data to make decisions.
Expertise in tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools, Moz, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, etc.
Experience with traditional and digital marketing strategy (e.g., Press Releases, Paid Advertising, Digital Advertising, Affiliate Blogging)
Experience with email marketing automation services (e.g., MailChimp, Hubspot)
Experience with CMS platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Wordpress)
Proficiency in Javascript, HTML and CSS a plus
Ability to pass a security background check
