Director, Product & Solutions Marketing, HCI
Job Summary
The Director, Product & Solutions Marketing, NetApp HCI will play a pivotal role in setting the vision, developing the strategy and laying the foundation for our offerings and go-to-market initiatives, both short and long term. The person in this position will lead the assessment of potential markets, create the product marketing strategy and plan, coordinate a variety of marketing execution resources and ensure that our sales teams have the knowledge and tools required to meet their goals. At the heart of this position is the responsibility for market and competitive analysis, developing deep customer and ecosystem knowledge, and formulating requirements documents that guide product roadmaps, marketing programs and sales initiatives. This role interfaces with stakeholders both internally and externally. Internally, key partners and stakeholders include BU leadreship, sales, solutions architects, engineering and product management teams along with marketing peers and functional leaders across the company. Externally, the Director of Product & Solutions Marketing will work with customers, prospects, analysts, media, technology and channel partners, and influencers to publicly represent NetApp and our market position.
Job Requirements
- Experience marketing Hyper-converged and Cloud infrastructure solutions - Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including presentation skills.- Excellent relationship building and negotiating skills. - Experience in developing, managing, and executing marketing campaigns.- Ability to work collaboratively with functional peers across functions.- Strong understanding of technologies and competitive offerings in the marketplace.- Ability to convey information clearly and analysis as needed to help customer make buying decisions.- An excellent understanding how technology products and solutions solve business problems.- Demonstrated experience working with Marketing and Sales organizations.- Prior experience with developing budgets and controlling costs.- A demonstrated ability to manage professional level employees.Responsibility and Interaction:Responsibility: - The tasks this individual is responsible for are critical to the organization's future, have wide implications, and there may be multiple outcomes. - This individual will apply many years of expertise or unique technical/industry knowledge in solving problems that are unique and extremely complex given time, budget and resource constraints. - Demonstrate leadership and vision in determining and driving strategy decisions, process changes, business initiatives, etc. Interaction:- This individual must work effectively with Staff to Executive levels employees within the function, across functions and outside of the organization.- This individual is a recognized expert and exercises wide latitude in determining own objectives and approaches to critical assignments.- Is seen as a leader, or "guru" by others in the function and organization.
Education
BS/BA degree or equivalent related experience. 12+ years
Technical background in Cloud Infrastructure technologies with a understanding of the IT ecosystems that exist in large scale Enterprise, SaaS & Service Provider markets
Strong sales background with a track-record of working with direct and indirect models to drive revenue growth
Track record of innovation and success positioning products in the enterprise IT hardware & software markets
