You will design, implement and monitor effective product marketing strategies that align with our business goals and assist the VP of Product Management with software product development and management.

Responsibilities         

Manage product marketing:

  1. Prioritize and manage marketing projects, allocating resources according to marketing goals.
  2. Assist in positioning & messaging management: create strategic messaging and manage execution through various traditional, modern and guerrilla/bootstrap tactics. Build relationships with media and stakeholders through creative PR strategies. Provide guidance and ideas to organize effective marketing events.
  3. Develop and execute a Go to Market Plan which defines product to sell, target customer, how and where to promote (marketing mix) with desired measurable outcomes
  4. Create marketing material for internal or external stakeholders, including product support documentation, case studies, demos, sales presentations, product videos, website copy, blog posts, Quora/forum responses.
    1. Write documentation support material to support product success with internal and external stakeholders
    2. Write product marketing copy material which includes key value propositions, benefits vs features, meaningful differentiation and positioning
  5. Manage demand generation: test, optimize and build demand channels  with outbound prospecting, demand generation, lead nurturing and sales development
  6. Monitor and track competitors’ and target customer activities

Assist in product management responsibilities:

  1. Product/market fit: participate in the customer discovery process to find market, message, and value proposition that resonates with target audience. Assist members of our sales and product team on calls with prospects when appropriate to provide deeper dives into the product.
  2. Strategy: perform market and competitive research; complete customer discovery including segmenting the market and identification of specific, focused customer problems and associated value; aggregate product use and customer feedback; define use cases, product requirements, value propositions and business cases; organize into themes based on value propositions and prioritize based on impact
  3. Execution:  management the development process; write requirements in the form of use cases to deliver on minimum viable products for the most critical and specific problem at hand; use MVPs to validate market needs, quantify value/pricing and justify investments; work with software engineering to understand the buy-build-bolt considerations and effort or cost of execution
  4. Management: manage the roadmap, including trade-offs of prioritizing effort/impact and ROI at various stages of specificity and definition; manage partner and supplier relationships; supporting launches and sales; tracking product performance; acting as product expert evangelizing and troubleshooting as necessary
