Director, Pricing, Packaging and Market Intelligence

Marketo is looking for an exceptional product marketing leader to join our team. You are a critical member of Marketo Product & Portfolio Marketing with key responsibilities including the development and implementation of product pricing / packaging, competitive research and positioning, and business analysis supporting these disciplines. You possess a record of success in these disciplines, delivering measurable results. You thrive in a team environment and work enthusiastically with colleagues outside the immediate team to achieve company goals. You also effectively mentor and coach direct reports to enable their success.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage a small team of pricing/packaging, competitive and business analysts responsible for:
  • Developing and driving pricing and packaging strategy across product and service lines (existing and new GTM)
  • Managing pricebooks and process for creating and maintaining SKUs within pricebooks
  • Creating reports and dashboards (e.g. pipeline, product, revenue) across multiple systems
  • Creating sales tools to assist in the pricing and quoting process
  • Working cross-functionally (Sales Ops, Finance, IT, Legal, Estaff) on company-wide pricing initiatives (e.g. increasing ARR, Win Rate, Xsell)
  • Enabling customer-facing teams to price solutions and substantiate ROI to prospects and customers
  • Providing deal support for Sales and Finance
  • Researching key competitors, developing competitive positioning and enabling customer-facing teams on competitive strategy and materials
  • Manage and drive internal Competitive Center of Excellence
  • Exude high executive presence and proven ability to present and gain approval from Executive Leadership on pricing models, analyses

 

Essential Skills, Experience & Education

  • 8+ years in strategic and analytical role (PMM, PM, business analyst/consultant/operations) or similar at a business applications SaaS company (preferably Marketing or Sales applications)
  • Must be able to thrive in a highly dynamic, flexible work environment and switch rapidly from strategy to execution
  • Highly skilled at analytical decision-making; ability to evaluate business issues and resolve problems; ability to develop and write a business plan
  • Proficient with developing models and analyzing data in Excel
  • Excels at gathering intelligence from data, present findings and decisions, influence stakeholders and execute on initiatives
  • Works effectively across organizational lines, commands respect, and influences without authority
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Bachelors degree required

 

Nice to have

  • MBA from a well-regarded institution, considered a plus
  • Experience with BI tools a plus
  • Experience with CRM a plus
  • Experience with CPQ tools a plus
