Simple Energy is a Boulder, CO-based venture-backed SaaS company. Simple Energy is a Certified B-Corp and a graduate of the TechStars accelerator program. Simple Energy works with electric and gas utilities to help motivate and enable customers to save energy via targeted motivational messaging and instant-rebate eCommerce.

The Director, eCommerce is responsible for developing, managing & executing strategies for Simple Energy’s ecommerce sales channel. This includes the overall P & L, analytics, marketing campaign strategy, and programs to drive on-line sales growth. This person manages all utility eCommerce Marketplaces and ensures site development projects proceed and launch on schedule, as well as addressing & resolving issues in regards to website functionality to improve conversion. The Director, eCommerce manages the eCommerce squad. This role will have a broad set of key responsibilities and require a high degree of communication, both internally and externally. Must have incredible organizational skills and the desire to mentor and work collaboratively.

Responsibilities

  • Create and identify strategies for long and short term growth opportunities. Accomplish online sales objectives by planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating advertising, merchandising, and promotion programs
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase customer acquisition, re-engagement and lifetime value
  • Managing collaboration between IT Resources both internal and external, to identify and execute the strategic vision across the ecommerce platform
  • Manage and provide reporting for key performance indicators.
  • Offer key insights for site merchandising strategies that support inventory planning and strategy.
  • Develop and manage the SEO/SEM strategy
  • Manage the buying process which includes new product P & L’s, negotiating contracts with vendors, and facilitating the addition of new products and services onto Simple Energy’s eCommerce website.
  • Manage the fulfillment process including inventory management, demand planning, and logistics
  • Support and partner across squads with a strong focus on Customer Service and Client Engagement.
  • Contract negotiation with vendor/partners
  • Project management from site launches/enhancements to new product additions
  • Lead the onboarding of new partners - negotiate and review contracts, NDA’s, and re-seller agreements.
  • Maintain and update product release roadmap and product catalog.
  • Implement website updates and enhancements

About you

  • Strong knowledge of eCommerce related business processes both front and back end
  • Great at prioritizing and fluent with project management
  • 10+ years of experience learning and growing in the eCommerce realm
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field
  • You are a strategic thinker with the ability to see big picture in addition to being hands on and in the details day to day.
  • You are an active communicator and keep internal teams informed of any new developments
  • You love to take on new challenges and are not afraid to learn new things
  • You can work independently in an unstructured environment with strong performance expectations
  • You are an independent self-starter with a sense of urgency, proven results orientated, and have an affinity for producing consistently high-quality work and yield in a manner that exceeds expectations.
  • You have the capacity to juggle multiple priorities effectively within a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is a creative thinker with critical analysis and problem-solving skills, along with flexibility/adaptability and the ability to think on your feet.
  • You are an expert in Google Ad Words, FB Ads, and other digital marketing channels
  • You have strong experience with Google Analytics, Google Adwords, email tools like Salesforce or Campaign Monitor, Google Drive, Jira and eCommerce platforms like Shopify and HTML.
